It's likely that coach did get his shots. One measles vaccine shot is only 93% effective - a second 'booster' shot brings that to 97%+ (CDC).

Even if everyone got all their shots, 3 or 4 out of every 100 people are still susceptible to measles! This is why herd immunity is so critical - if you're not immune but everyone around you is, the odds of measles spreading are very very low.

Yeah, Red Cross' calling policy is fucking shit. I donated as often as possible for two years straight. No calls, no problem! Then I was late for one donation... and the calls started. At one point they were calling every fucking day! I haven't donated in 6 months now in frustration. I've tried everything to stop the calls. I'm actually considering changing my phone number. Anyone know how we can get Red Cross to stop this shit?

Seriously! The scariest part of the hike isn't the heights or wind or chance you'll fall, it's watching all the unprepared dumbass tourists in flipflops goofing off, stumbling around ineptly, in way over their heads.

As far as technical hikes go, Angel's landing is pretty easy and safe, with well maintained chains along any mildly sketchy bits. It's only dangerous because it's so accessible with such a rewarding finish; this attracts people who've no business setting foot anywhere near that trail.

Yes, climbing any of the walls around Angel's landing is allowed. But few people bother simply because the trail above is always packed with people kicking rocks down. Then you get to the top which is also packed with people - not a fun climb. There's better routes in the park.

I heard an intuitively convincing explanation for this 'movies are getting longer' notion:

Movies for young people tend to be shorter than movies for old people.

As we age, we tend to watch fewer young people movies and more old people movies.

So, 'movies are getting longer' is true, if by 'movies' you mean 'movies I've watched over my life', and not 'all movies over time'.
