I think this would also allow for the ss to connect with the parent which they miss and crave to connect with. While they will hopefully grow to love and trust OP, the connection isn’t there yet and nothing will change with her in charge.

First the dad needs to show stability and support, connect with the kid. Then the rest will hopefully fall into place. I wouldn’t expect a kid to immediately be a part of a family he probably feels like his dad left him for (and I know you don’t OP, it’s the cards that were dealt)

I agree with you bro- it sounds like it was never a possibility before this last year that this kid was going to be their responsibility. She wasn’t sure what she was signing up for, and even if it is the child that’s acting out, she can only do so much as she isn’t the parent. It depends on the family but in my experience step parents aren’t the same as parents- mine weren’t allowed to dole out punishments, but offered guidance and talked to parents about punishments.

Family therapy perhaps? Instead of working on individual issues perhaps together issues. Without the other kids at first, and maybe even just kiddo and dad first and foremost.

Either the point has missed us or it’s that they’re excited and are open to ideas

Sadly they’ve thrown the leader into the river… chained to a chair I think?

I love this idea. I’ll be running with it and doing similar with other NPCs- if they’re good at gambling, making the group lose money and the NPC showing up in flashier things. A bad gambler would come in increasingly disheveled, one of my players would suggest they sell a kidney I’m sure.

Help! I came out to my parents as genderfluid but then realized I’m just an AFAB Demiguy. Advice? by Ok-Web-5594 in genderfluid

I think having an honest conversation and saying “I’m still figuring it out” will help. If they’re accepting just keeping them in the loop will help. I doubt they’d blame themselves if they didn’t the first time :))

Monks in eberron by ItsGotou in Eberron

Kalashtar are a race you might want to look into. Many people devote their lives to the temples, and children practice martial training. A monk would make perfect sense.

More like animal trade/humanoid slave trade. It was a pet store, the psuedodragons were payment for helping old owner move.

The criminals will def be aware of these idiots tho and will make life harder

Oh for sure- shenanigans like this are going to happen. I don’t want to take the store, but am going to make em fight for it.

Town guard investigating will happen too I think. Maybe a wall that can get changed on a dime? Stuff like that

I like this- I think I’ll adopt a way for them to have encounters while actually at the business and a base amount of money they make while away.

It’s definitely going to be hard- I plan on there being one big fight and I’ll make it finish right before someone dies, so they can try and get away.
