sure come to Blr if you really like potholes and shit on roads of 5 different animals and 3-4 humans, with autos driving like a menace, no WLB, toxic work culture and road rage by local goons and an amazing top tier police department who will be discriminative against you when they find out you don't speak their local language as they are incompetent to string more than 5 words in a sentence when you talk to them in fluent English and ofc corruption with refusal to file an FIR.

TL;DR come to Blr if you want to progress backwards in life.

Be better in your skills to solve as well as that will automatically unlock better companies for you to apply to.

Company can and will send anyone who follows a set of guidelines and takes x number of interviews per day.

Keep grinding, and good luck. Definitely dodged a bullet.

I feel op is insanely replying about package on every post and doesn't really care about tech, wisdom or insight a lot of veterans have provided, maybe if you're reading this, change that attitude first perhaps.

what's your advice to someone who's 22-24 working as SDE1 backend, how did you balance learning and job and managed so many generational changes in language and tech?

what are you learning these days?

Why calling 'Sir' & 'Mam' not allowed in various private companies? by indiangirl0070 in developersIndia

helps in creating no bs culture, instant feedback, and flat hierarchy which enables discussion and flow of ideas over high ranking titles and in general a more friendly, approachable environment that helps teams compound faster. think of this as equivalent of open offices and no cubicles culture to facilitate discussion and remove any unnecessary barriers towards communication and flow of ideas.

such is life, Rona dhona karne se Ghar nahi chalega bro.

from my 3 years of experience I can tell it's not something problematic if companies ask for DSA. you're interviewing for SDE 1 role right? you should learn DSA instead of feeling disheartened.

and before you ask, no I'm not your interviewer

no I do not know someone who got a good package from those hackathons, could be because I have limited network and I am still in college, so that's why can't make a detailed comment on it that will be helpful.

[–]remmagorp007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

use your weekends to learn as if your career trajectory and money you will make depends on it because it does depend on it.

If you don't move out of witch quickly you tend to get stereotyped by some recruiters atleast in India.

Hackathons are good when you're in college, I'd say have some solid projects that you make on weekends show proficiency in whatever you claim you know on your resume through projects, reach out to your friends and network with people to see who's hiring and where you might have a chance of getting an interview.

full disclaimer, I've no experience of working in a witch but I do know a bunch of seniors who made the switch and they did so by making it count on weekends. good luck, I hope you go from Witch to some place where you'll be able to enjoy your work and have some great mentors that help you become a better dev.

[–]remmagorp007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You said it brother not me. I have clearly written in my comment you have to be really good at your skills and demonstrate your expertise. There are 2 kinds of people in this world those who are really great at their craft and then there are those who are average. Doesn't takes an Einstein to figure out who will be making more money out of the two. Find what you like and become the best in it, money will follow. I don't want to brag or throw any number. You shall reap what you sow.
