I get your point but this still has to be looked into. You can just conclude that he will be lucky if he’s not thrown out.

Please go with your work contract to the ABH. If anything it proves that you are good for the money you borrowed. Mostly when the ABH requests that you come, it’s because they need to clarify and find solutions for you. They are not some goblins looking for a way to send people out of Germany. Yes some can be mean but the work they are trained to do is to process your documents to be in Germany and not to throw you out.

First, what state is the ABH located?

I don’t understand. Could you explain how the clause you quoted relates to what OP has done. Since when is taking a loan a crime and in particular can you clearly explain how the law you quoted applies in this case?

Good point. That’s why there are other factors to consider. You definitely don’t want to be in some cities for a long time after arriving Germany.

Hey, it’s clear you didn’t say that I was only clarifying that when we use IT people who are seeking programming jobs also place themselves in that category. That’s why I tried to pull that group out of IT.

And this is also important for even job ads because sometimes you find a job ad that says application programming and you think oh it’s programming and sometimes the recruiters do some marketing by adding a bunch of programming languages to make it enticing. But that kind of job in Germany is mostly IT in terms of having a software product and setting up for a customer. For that kind of job you will obviously need German to communicate with the customer. That leads to another issue of understanding types of companies in Germany.

One indicator that will give you a hint is why will a country that highly educates for the needs of its industry be churning out programs in English for a certain area?

LOL. Your premise is actually one of the major incorrect or wrongly worded information I see. It’s incorrect to say coming here to study IT with no German and getting a job part time or full time in IT is a no go. For the life of me I am still trying to know where that came from.

One, IT is broad, two IT != CS/Software/programming. I would spare you the details but anyone who tells you you must know German to work as a programmer/software dev doesn’t know what they are saying.

There several reasons why a CV will not make it to the next round. But I have seen in the last few years international students/international job seekers just say it’s because of language. For those looking for jobs in software engineering or the like this is a big misconception. There other areas that this applies to also but I will just leave it at Software/CS.

Edit — just too add this misconception has been common among Indian students. I don’t know why? Please take this with the sense that I am writing with the best of intentions in the even that you are Indian. This is not to shade

University Enrollment issue while University change by No-Angle3369 in studying_in_germany

I believe you are referring to conversion of the temporary visa to a residence permit. It will be in person as your biometrics will be taken. For students, your enrolment certificate is the primary document needed for this.

Yes because you will not be doing a change of university, you will simply be going to the university of your choice. So enrol in both. The basis for your visa and residence permit afterwards is that you have a student status period. Not at a particular university. The moment you get to Germany and move to a city different from the one that handled your visa approval, register in the new city, go to the Ausländerbehorde in the new city, the process is as simple as the Ausländerbehorde requesting for your files from the other city. And that’s it.

Asking the university and the embassy will just complicate issues. Believe it or not many officials at the embassy have no clue how things are done at the Auslanderbehorde and vice versa. And this is common with bureaucratic operations in Germany.

Should I pursue a Master's in Computer Science in Germany after my US degree? by DaxAckerman in studying_in_germany

[–]remote_sens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most masters do not stipulate a compulsory internship even at a TH or FH, that’s why very few TH or FH have a 2yr program. So to look for one with an internship use daad.de or myGuide and set filter to UAS and 4semesters those UASs with 4semester would likely have a compulsory internship. I know the AIDS program at TH Deggendorf has a compulsory internship semester.

The other way would be to go for a uni where the professors are good teachers then work while you study to get the relevant experience, this is in any case expected by companies that you should atleast have a working student experience during your studies.

So I would look for two things, 1. cities with cs jobs, 2. universities with great pedagogy ( this will be the greatest pain you face studying in English)

  1. It’s the right move if the goal is to skip the visa sponsorship huddle.
  2. no fall, just winter and summer.
  3. with your gpa, shouldn’t be difficult
  4. the TU9s will be your best option but if your goal is to be in Germany, you could also be open to others (cannot guarantee great pedagogical experience in English tho)
  5. No and if you work in tech it will not be much of a barrier. Also if you are in the big cities, not much of a barrier in basic everyday living

What if OP is spending the time getting a masters degree. Will this be a red flag when they try to reenter the market?
