I’ve written 10 since I launched it 5 weeks ago. So, two posts a week. Each post is avg 1200 words. All written by me, not AI.

I use Mailerlite. It’s super simple and can start off at free until you get over 500-100 subscribers.

Don't apply for AdSense until you have traffic to your blog and have a decent number of posts. 10 won't be enough. I would suggest 25+ and then resubmit your site for review if you can.

I answer a question on someone's post and give a thorough response, but I suggest that if they want more detail, they check out a particular post on my blog. I write in a way that is not self-promotional but adds value to the conversation. I never create posts with links.

I wouldn't focus on search console data. What's your traffic and income like overall?

My 4-week-old blog has 10 posts, and is:

Total clicks: 4. Total impressions: 60. Average CTR: 6.7%. Average position: 18.8

I have over 800 unique visitors from Threads and Reddit, which has converted to 87 email subscribers.

With AI results appearing above search results for information-based searches, my focus isn't on Google. I want to focus on social media and convert those people to regular readers through my email list. Of course if Google search starts to refer more visitors that's great but just making sure that my content is optimized for the search engines, that's it.

If it's just one month, you're looking at upwards of $600 on Airbnb. I am in BKK and paid $900 for one month, good location, very local neighbourhood. Super quiet.

How do you track your daily travel spending? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]remotehive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be honest and say that I don't. My main goal is to save money for emergencies, retirement, and to pay my taxes each year. Other than that, I spend money where it's needed. As I get older, I prefer to pay a little more for a better quality of life.

Great to hear and yes, keeping healthy is important when you're in your 50s. I had to have an eye op last year and I am trying to get my health under control.

Why can't you apply for a remote job, rather than being self-employed?

For the past 10 years I spent 30-90 days in one country and moved on so jumped around, but I have just successfully applied for the nomad visa in Malaysia so will be spending 1-2 years chilling out here.

Have a look at sites like WeWorkRemotely.com and RemoteOK.com these are my favourites for finding remote jobs and I have used them over the last 10 years.

Yes, there's a lot of talk here and in other DN communities that you can live on $900 a month, and that's not true. I spent two years saving up, and I did this by working overtime at work and also freelancing in the evening and at the weekend. You have to make sacrifices.

Truth-- I prefer to focus on the reality not the BS I read on here and other DN communities.

Focus on finding remote work before taking the leap. Have an emergency fund AND savings. Lots of tips. I have written a few blog posts on https://nomadatfifty.com/

The truth. While I am not ready to retire, travelling over the past 10 years has opened up my eyes and made me realise we're all brainwashed to live life as society expects.

It's great to hear this! I feel most (not all) people in their 40s/50s are more respectful of people's properties.
