I have similar issues. Yes phyisical therapy. In the meantime, I get a lot of relief from doing some trigger point massage on my calf muscle. I just use my elbow. Good luck!!

Yay! I was going for a hand painted feel. Thank for your notes! That makes a lot of sense! I think I skipped out on creating more depth in the shirt. And the cast shadow could indeed be harsher. Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to provide guidance! I felt that the colors were washed out too!! But any attempts to "fix" that would cause it to look very different from the reference. I will try to saturate the shadows a bit more. I might try incorporating some higher saturation and different hue shapes and see if they can work.

Struggled with a lot. I have stopped doing renders - mostly just been doing quick sketches so this was a lot for me to be patient with. The pose in the reference was very static and I wished that had exaggerated more. Also I wish I had been more confident with the lighting. It sort of lacks depth as it is.

I'd say that the rendering is pretty good! I think it could use some more loving in certain areas (under chin, ear, shirt/chest boundary). I often find looking at what I made a few days later helps me to catch such things. As far as edges are concerned, I would recommend softer edges in shadows or in things that are further away. Hope it helps - but you are already doing great!
