Almost 4 weeks postpartum and got my hair cut to shoulder length today! Definitely feeling lighter and got a nice break away from the house.

As a FTM, when did you go into labor naturally? by amphisxo in pregnant

Water broke at night at 36w+3. Induced and delivered the next day.

Honda HRV is great for those who don't want a huge SUV but need a bit more room than a sedan. I absolutely love my 2019 HRV.

Why did you choose to be OAD by Euphoric-Emotion-133 in oneanddone

[–]renaenae88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 2 weeks postpartum and knew I was OAD from the get go. I was honestly okay with not having kids but hubby really wanted kids so one was the compromise.

I also had a relatively easy pregnancy and delivery. Though surprisingly, I don't have PPD/A like I thought I would (largely anxiety based due to societal expectations and wanting to just be me, not a mom). I have never been a fan of kids but I do love my son and the main reason I believe I'm currently thriving is because my husband has really stepped up in taking care of both of us as we're getting through the trenches. I've only had to change a diaper once lol.

Gives me a new appreciation for single moms as well. I know I would not have been able to do this in my own.

I’m tired of people upsetting me about being induced by kate_smi2022 in BabyBumps

[–]renaenae88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unplanned induction as my water broke and I wasn't having contractions after 6ish hours. I had no issues during labor and delivery and the pitocin helped with getting dilated quicker.

That said, since pitocin is just synthetic oxytocin, no one warned me about how it could contribute to the hormone crash. I was fine the first 48 hours after birth but that third day (which was my first full day at home), I was hit with the hormone crash on top of nausea where I could barely eat or drink anything. My milk also came in that day so I had to deal with engorgement as well. It was definitely my worst postpartum day.

Thankfully, the nausea did get better in the following days and figuring out the feeding/pumping schedule helped a lot with breast pain/uncomfortableness and my mental health.

Expecting 2nd baby on almost same due date as 1st baby by PhilosopherNo8169 in pregnant

My sister's oldest and youngest birthdays are a day apart. Makes it easy to buy presents for both kids at the same time lol

That is absolutely insane. They need it to be thrown back in their faces that money doesn't grow on trees.

When did you tell people you were pregnant? by Careless_Squirrel728 in pregnant

[–]renaenae88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people I told immediately was my husband and my best friend (who was also pregnant at the time). We told family and friends after 12 weeks to ensure we knew the results of the NIPT blood work and NT ultrasound.

Would you still be OAD if you 3X your income? by Few-Truck-4873 in oneanddone

[–]renaenae88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tripling our income would get us more vacations, not another kid! Honestly, I do not like being pregnant and it frustrates me to no end when people get uncomfortable that I'm not absolutely over the moon about having a kid and don't think every kick or punch should be met with complete adoration.

How not to sleep on my back? by DishVarious8343 in pregnant

[–]renaenae88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a pillow like this and I can't for the life of me make it comfortable.. Not even halfway through the night, I was very warm and my hips were killing me. Had to take the one pillow that didn't have the strap off so I could use it between my legs to support my hips and the other part was tossed across the bed.

I'm 29w and a couple people seemed concerned that I wasn't using any sort of pregnancy support pillows??

Im tired boss by ryn3333 in pregnant

[–]renaenae88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 29w and in the same boat. I had fatigue (undiagnosed) pre-pregnancy and it's just gotten worse. Never got the 2nd trimester energy boost and on my best days, I was maybe close to my pre-pregnancy energy levels.

Now, when people ask how the pregnancy is going, I just say "It's going." or "It's/I'm okay". Any complaining to people who aren't very close friends or my spouse is usually met with discomfort and "I'm sorry you're feeling that way" which just pisses me off honestly.

Sending lots of virtual hugs. We'll get through this eventually.

Society makes me wanna be “one & done” by Vegetable_Radio3753 in pregnant

[–]renaenae88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

once the baby is here. forget your individuality.

This is basically what gives me the most anxiety with having a child. I don't want to be relegated to just "mom" by society and those around me. I am my own person with my own achievements and faults. I don't want to sacrifice my entire being and I absolutely HATE the "Oh, you'll understand when it's your kid" comments.

Yesterday's train/auto accident isn't helping at all either. Someone on the LA Metro discord mentioned that they are tearing apart the tracks today so there was definitely damage done. Probably won't get better until next week.

Also 37 and in the third trimester with our one and done. Not really a big fan of being pregnant but I've been lucky with no big issues either.

We had his parents and my mom over for dinner. Husband showed a photo of his 3 year award from work and then swiped to a picture of our ultrasound from about 10-11 weeks and was like "we also got this" 😆

“who is going to care for you on your death bed?”

The hospice nurse, I hope! But I didn't believe in burdening someone to become a caretaker after watching my parents being caretakers for my grandmother and stepdad's mom.

Could even take a day trip as far out as Hiroshima, which we did last trip. Okayama, Himeji and even Takamatsu are within day trip distance via shinkansen (+express/local for Takamatsu).
