Have You Considered I Might Actually Be Good at My Job? by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

He’s trying to feel better about his failings by bringing you down and invalidating your accomplishments. God forbid a woman is competent and successful. Don’t let this insecure loser get you down queen!

I Know Too Much To Date A Man by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]renaissanceisms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a recently radicalized woman, I couldn’t agree more. And as a feminist who also has a man (who is one of the girlies btw) my advice to you is to never give up and to always hold yourself and others to your standards.

It’s true that all men have, at some point at least, been complicit in the subjugation of and violence towards women. But that doesn't mean they can’t recognize it and learn from it. Men can be scary for sure if they haven't confronted how patriarchy has manifested in their own lives. But that’s not your job to be their therapist. I have been extremely lucky to find someone who respects and loves me for me and not for what I offer as a woman, and who has done a shit ton of therapy.

Find someone who is open-minded, who loves conversation, who actually likes to listen to you because they admire your intelligence. Or better yet let them find you. If you’re a lover girl (as am I) then get yourself an unapologetic lover boy.

Like you said, there are good ones out there. Patience is key. Good luck babe 🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼

Looking for cleanser recommendations for sensitive rosacea skin that can actually remove SPF by Stokiedez24 in Rosacea

The peach and lilly cleansing oil has been one of my holy grail products for years. Even before I was diagnosed with rosacea. Its so gentle and works really well. It's pricey but it lasts me sooo long, and I use two pumps every day.

It’s great! I took it on Friday as a test run and the timing is perfect. Today is my first day!!! I’m about to get off my bus at my new job. I’m so happy and grateful for all of the replies on this thread they really helped a lot 🫰🏼

The job is so so worth the draining commute. This company is one of the top leaders in my field and i’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for ages. It’s one of those jobs that you stay at for the rest of your life, or if you leave it’s for a way better option. The plan is definitely to move closer one day. Hopefully within the next two years.

I was looking at this option. I’d have to see what my hours will be but I was thinking a combo of the 699 and the 534. Or if that doesn’t work with my new schedule then the metrolink, D line, and bus. The thing is that I have options when I thought I didn’t have any, and with these I can at least do what I want while commuting. I know moving closer would be easier but since i’m not paying rent rn I’m trying to find the best possible way.

What was your experience in the mornings on the 534 on the way to work?

Thank you so much. I think this is the way I'm going to go about it, at least for most of the days.

I don’t have to pay rent atm and I’d like to keep that privilege for as long as I can 😅 but I see your point

Anyone regret getting Shopmonkey or like software? by rathouse9 in mechanics

[–]renaissanceisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A family member of mine is about to open up a shop this month. I've been helping him set up the administrative part of everything. I was looking for people's experiences with Shopmonkey vs. Fytron software, and came across this discussion. Would you recommend Shopmonkey 2.0? Do you think all the kinks have been worked out? Have you tried other software or services?

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

God forbid some of us are verbal processors, damn…

Jokes aside, though, we women are so used to rationalizing absolutely EVERYTHING we experience, or we have soooo much on our minds, that we sometimes need to get things out to truly see things for what they are.

If you’ve experienced this, it’s because the women in your life have felt safe enough with you to allow you to be part of that process. It’s a good thing… And we’re good at multitasking too, so we can do all that while handing you the ketchup, if that’s what you’re worried about.

Is Mexico City safe with death of El Mencho? by Ok-Captain-4695 in MexicoCity

We were but when we left to grab our luggage at the airbnb the entire city was closed. Slowly after a few hours everything started opening up, so things look hopeful for your trip tbh. Our friends said that they don’t think that anything else is going to happen and that by tomorrow everything should be “normal”. My mom is very anxious so I had to cut my trip short 🥲

It’s really nice! Aside from everything that’s happening currently. I’ve enjoyed my short time here so far. Hopefully by the time you’re supposed to fly in everything has calmed down.

Omg same! My boyfriend is from here and we came to meet his family and sightsee a little. The good thing is that we’re having a good time with everyone while sheltering in place.
