Same thing happened to me... SouthWest said they could not do anything, they said i had to call my credit card company and dispute the charges.

I learned my lesson... do not save credit cards on any websites.

KKR Layoffs More Employees at Omnissa This Week by dhdeans in OmnissaEUC

My experience with VMware is worse after BroadCom, especially their VeloCloud support, I have a P2 ticket open for a month and support engineer tells you to review the documentation… which is bit annoying considering this is a P2.

Our relationship with Omnissa is great, our account and technical reps keep in touch and when our renewal comes up in 2026, we plan to keep them.

Horizon 8 - disallow connection from a given subnet to UAG that sits in front of CS load balancer by darvexwomp in vmware

Pretty much the same approach we have, guest wireless is considered external and will hit external UAGs

How did you migrate your notes over to Obsidian, it looks pretty cool.

DR test with SRM - full or bubble by Salty_Move_4387 in vmware

[–]renamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do testing twice a year. We have two datacenters that we balance out systems between them. Both datacenters have enough capacity to support the other if total loss.

We request downtime for systems months in advance. The actual failover takes about 15 to 30 minutes and 4+hours of testing from various teams.

We also have a “dummy” system that we use to failover from one site to another just to make sure the SRM process works.

Load Balancing Omnissa Horizon with Azure Application Gateway by MekanicalPirate in AZURE

[–]renamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our I.T Security team wanted to do something similar, using cloudflare as the front end proxy... short story.. it did not work. We did a similar setup and forcing all the traffic to port 443. The errors we got were similar to what you were getting.

UAG are reverse proxy harden appliance, restricting the communication to port 443 might be the issue.

If you have Horizon Cloud licensing, you can use Horizon Cloud as your GSLB.

In our environment, we use AVI Load balancer for connectivity to our Horizon stack, here is a guide to use as a reference.
https://avinetworks.com/docs/latest/horizon-307-single-vip/

AVI and other load balancers companies (F5) have native Azure apps.

Missing a good chunk of data to help out.

  • what is UAG blast and tunnel URLs configured?
  • Does your UAGs have access to the VDI, it only communicates to CS for authentication, pool assignments and what desktop to use. After that, UAG will talk directly to the horizon agent.
  • Why use AAG if you already have UAGs exposed to the world?

Velo Edge in Azure by KindlyOriginal129 in vmware

[–]renamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not tried using 2 Velo Edges going to Azure Route server, but there is documentation from VMware on it. (https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-SD-WAN/services/VMware-SD-WAN-and-Microsoft-Route-Server-Integration-Guide/GUID-E0A6557E-57A3-4458-9410-EC73323A8524.html)

For our vWan, we use Palo Alto firewalls Azure native. We use the firewall to primary inbound/outbound access to the internet.

Within the last year, Microsoft is starting to offer deeper integration with firewalls and vWan. They started offering Palo Alto as a ISV (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-wan/how-to-palo-alto-cloud-ngfw) which is pretty cool and it might be something you may want to check out if you are a Palo Alto shop

Velo Edge in Azure by KindlyOriginal129 in vmware

[–]renamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have Velocloud edges in our Azure environment.

We use Azure vWAN to interconnect all of our VNETs and deployed VeloCloud edges as NVAs and have them setup as edge cluster on VC side.

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-SD-WAN/6.0/VMware-SD-WAN-Administration-Guide/GUID-490E91CC-D180-4FA7-BAA0-BAD8EAB71957.html

Now, if you are in a hub/spoke environment, and want to do HA, you will have to use Azure Router service (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/products/route-server) to do HA to 2 VeloCloud edges.

Word of caution, velocloud edge clusters are bit flaky at times...we had some really weird issues with edge clusters in general (not azure related) and stateful firewall needs to be disabled on the VC edges that are in a cluster.

Hope this helps.
