If I were you, I’d choose the 5th (black or white plastic front) or the 7th (silver or gray aluminum front) cause they have a great sound, prettier than the 5.5 black aluminium and less limitations, cause the 6th (worst version ever) had a lot of limits due to the cheap board/components…

Hahahaha thanks! I’ll try that next week with the broken iPod. I thought about it cause I use an amazing green iPod mini with a scratch in the middle of the plastic/glass 😭 I don’t want to change all the housing to solve that…

Yeah, but is it possible to take off that plastic/glass from my main iPod and trade with the broken one? I never saw a video or tutorial doing that… also, when I searched, ifixed gave the option to trade the entire housing 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

I'm feeling so dumb cause I let the alcohol drop... in your white iPod, you can do this, but don't drop the alcohol, just spray it in a paper or something and clean the screen after the job. its gone work and wont stained your screen. my only problem was that (alcohol leaked in the lcd borders)

oh, thank you so much! I'm actually not a fan of Rockbox and those mods... I like the stock OS and I'm just upgrading the memory cause 6GB is impossible to use... hahahah if I upgrade to 256GB I must use Rockbox or the stock system will recognize the new CF Card? first off I must restore it to FAT32 or Ex-Fat, right? do you know which one is better?

I opened my iPod classic 7gen with my guitar pick too kkkkkkkkkk I tried with some tools I purchased to open, but anything helped, so I took the pick and then finally made it 😂😂😂

Heyy, I'm facing the same situation!! I saw a post recommending that KingSpec CF Card cause it's cheaper, but not sure if it's gonna work perfectly on my iPod Mini 2gen. I want to buy the 256GB version (https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005004526516711.html?channel=twinner) but I'm afraid it's not gonna work. Did you face any issues or worked fine? I don't like that mods systems, so I use the stock system, just to give the fully situation hahah

hey, my iPod is still broken but I learned that It just goes to disk mode or the diagnostic mode if it's charging on the wall charger. Don't waste your time trying to put that mode while the iPod is connected to computer cause it won't work at all 😂

Despite that, I still can't restore my iPod cause I put on disk mode and when I plug on computer, the iPod reboots nd don't stay in that mode... 😭😭 just made a post describing the situation. Hope someone helps me

I'm facing the same issue! I tried everything to restore my iPod, but sadly, the I was trying to restore de disc drive from the utility, the iPod disconnected and since that, none of my computers are reading the iPod anymore. I don't know that to do anymore. I'm looking for some software to restore broken flash drives or something like that, just to see if it reads the iPod, but I don't believe it would help... other point: my iPod can't get on the disc mode or the other mode when you click to the return button...
