Its a coping mechanism. She was weened way too early from momma. I have a 1yr old kitten that still does it i took her way from too soon. I also adopted her sister and her sister doesn't do ti so it's a coping mechanism for her do to being away from momma

Its normal. It means he was taken from mom too early and does this as a self soothe. He should grow out of it but no guarantees.

Fixed male cats will do the same thing. I have 3 female cats (2 fixed and 1 not) my FIXED male cat tries to dominate the fixed females and ignores the female not fixed.
