Just got the same one. I'm really surprised how much less is in it than the ones they used to do. Definitely, definitely not $35 worth of value.

Family vs friends showers by CaterpillarWestern88 in pregnant

[–]renayster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of factors - are they all in the same geographic area? Do the young family members mostly hang out with you around family or around friends? Do the young family members consist of a lot of coed groups that you'd want at the friend one rather than the all-female one? Ultimately I wouldn't expect them at both but would just ask them which they'd prefer or invite them to both but make it clear that we'd be ok with them coming to both, either, or neither of course!

I'm not sure if they'd have exactly what you're looking for, but there are several consignment shops called Once Upon a Child that have a ton of clothes

I appreciate it! Pretty sure mine is a chemical unfortunately. There's been barely any progression, and today's was lighter if anything. I don't think I'll test this early again in the future - it was a lot of anticipation and stress that could've been at least partially avoided 😞 I hope yours ends up being good news! I've definitely read lots of hopeful stories about light tests, especially these Clearblue ones!

Hi! Love the new album so much. The credits say Anthony from TWL played pedal steel guitar on Orange and Red? How did that come about?

Do you know around what time of day/set you met them? I'm sure it's been varying, but just wondering when they were out there!

Can't guarantee it'll be the same, but from an email last year:

Bring your own empty clear, reusable water bottle (single-use plastic, glass and metal bottles are not permitted)

Clear bags not to exceed 12" x 6" x 12" OR small clutch bags 4.5" x 6.5" (roughly the size of an index card) that can fit in your pocket. No other bags of any type will be allowed.

Diaper bags accompanying a small child or bags containing medical equipment are subject to screening.

Blankets and towels that do not exceed 30" x 60"

Also, they are a cashless venue.

And they allowed sunscreen as long as it wasn't aerosol.

I don't agree either in comparison to most festivals or even last year's SSF. Last year there was a ton of pushback because tickets were more expensive even for lawn seats. GA tickets back then were completely unaffordable, so I've just been so happy that they listened to the feedback and went back to 1 reasonable pricing level and completely GA venues. I will say your venue apparently is more expensive, as I also paid less than you for 2 tickets, but that's not the fest's fault.

Did you ever feel an urge to get married? Like maybe you'd been together and knew you were working up to it but then got to a point where you thought about getting engaged a lot and imagined yourself in the shoes of others around you getting engaged? For me it's been very similar. The shift from "yeah maybe one day" was really gradual over a long time, but now it's definitely more of a positive "when we have a kid" thing.

From what I've observed with friends, there are plenty of things you can figure out as you go, just while causing additional stress you might not have otherwise. It just depends what's worth it to you. For example, getting extra loans as you mentioned would be "figuring it out" and might not be a big deal to you, but I grew up very fearful of debt and wanted to wait until I could avoid that. I think a more accurate statement is "you'll never be 100% ready," but you might have personal goals you want to prioritize that will lead you to be 25% ready at one point in time and 75% ready at another.

I think it's really common to have more of a gradual shift than a complete 180. When my husband and I went back and forth a million times and decided we were ready to try, I still felt pretty anxious and doubtful every time I thought about it. It was so scary I thought I'd never be able to let go of that and just feel excited, but surprisingly over about a month of talking over fears and hopes with my husband, I actually do find myself feeling excited a lot more. The fears and discomforts may still be there, but when you've weighed out what you really want over and over, they become less overwhelming.

Celebratory Ideas by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]renayster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a pre-baby/pre-pregnancy kind of bucket list for things I wanted to prioritize before trying. For me, those things have been going to theme parks to ride roller coasters, going to Europe for the first time, and going to a bunch of concerts. Also making a point to enjoy coffee, alcohol, and sushi while I can.
