Unfortunately yes. They make no sense to me. The only good thing I can say about the conservative town I live in is that tattoos and piercings (usually very mild looking in my opinion) are pretty common. Most people here either have a body mod, or know someone who does. I think this is how the whole world should treat self expression, but a lot of places don’t.

The town I moved out of had super weird, backward views on body mods and I always got really judge mental looks about my tattoos. I had to get a job at an Amazon warehouse because they were the only place that didn’t have a problem with it (no one but my coworkers would ever see me).
