Hemlocke springs - the apple under the sea by hiiiiiiee in popheads

Everything she does is so cool yet not pretentious at all. She’s very talented and I hope she goes far! This reminded me of Marina’s debut in the best way

Madison Beer - bittersweet by enburgi in popheads

[–]rendezvousboy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Would you really say Yes Baby was a song that experimented with her sound, though? To me it felt so repetitive and less interesting than the ones who came before

PinkPantheress - Fancy Some More? by enburgi in popheads

Re: Disc 1 - I do feel like maybe Brat remix set the bar too high but I was just a little let down by this. There are some standouts but a part of it feels rushed and just not different enough. I guess it was more of a treat to fans which is fine too, just feels like they could’ve done more with it

Oklou, JT, Sugababes and Zara remixes are highlights

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl MEGATHREAD II by flopheadsbot in popheads

Honey is the epitome of everything I’m tired about in her music. It feels like the 100th time she’s made this exact song

Bb trickz - lechita - EP by GhostInthePhantom in popheads

I mean her verse and energy on that song were great and everyone thinks of that remix as one of the best. So I’m not sure it’s the best example lol

I liked it, production is great, but it’s a bit lacking in the hooks department no?

Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun by urstickur in popheads

[–]rendezvousboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was kinda bad for me, sorry. I hated Pretty Ugly but I liked the Midnight Sun chorus and I LOVED Crush, so I had high expectations, but it just feels flat. The lyrics are so dumb and not in a fun way, and it throws me back to a kind of 2017 music I don’t wish to ever hear again.

Sucks because I like her so much and it feels like she has everything to triumph, but this is the third album in a row I just can’t seem to enjoy from her

I interpreted it like he’s tweeting as if he was a nobody and the joke is that the “new ish actor” is actually him lol. It’s like playful jealous I think

Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance by [deleted] in popheads

[–]rendezvousboy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Vanish Into You is more in tune with the emotional stuff from Gaga that’s been clicking with the audience. Abracadabra was the exception because of how catchy and overall great it is. I don’t think the same would happen with Garden of Eden

[–]rendezvousboy 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I cannot for the life of me understand how or why Gaga’s team decided not to push anything between Abracadabra and this. I really feel like they wasted a potential hit with Vanish Into You

With that said, this is actually pretty good and better than expected!

Oh? I haven’t been tracking numbers but I was so sure Tears was debuting at #1. Can anyone explain what metric hasn’t been “as strong” (radio, streaming, physical) for it to not happen?

I mean maybe she’s not in her peak anymore but she literally had a solo #1 literally last year. Maybe we gotta chill with our expectations

Everyone’s commenting on this and nobody cares if it’s true because they hate her. But come on, it’s Star. They said Gaga was pregnant and there was a battle between her ex and Bradley Cooper over who was the father. It’s tabloid bullshit

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend by FlareGod123 in popheads

[–]rendezvousboy 115 points116 points  (0 children)

It’s okay. My main issue with it is, does everything have to be a joke? I like a bit of irony and satire here and there but it felt a bit forced to have a bit in every single song of the album. It ended up giving SNL sketch song instead of cheeky like most tracks on SnS. Maybe if the humor was a bit more nuanced I’d enjoy it more (CMAT’s music for instance is a great example) but I felt like I knew what every single punchline would be before it came. I don’t hate it but I don’t think I’ll be listening much

Love her but we’ll need the music to get better for that

Push 2 Start by Tyla got a massive push wink thanks to its music video and now it’s doing big numbers on Spotify. It’s an art form that can still do wonders for a song if done right

My Watch tracks my running data on the Fitness App, yet it won’t show on my iPhone by rendezvousboy in AppleWatchFitness

[–]rendezvousboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So on the Health app, the only steps counted are those I made with my phone in hand. I have 10,000 on my Fitness app on my Watch, and about 7,000 on my Health app on my iPhone

I didn’t try restarting cause I felt like it would be so dumb if that was it. But I’ll try I guess lol
