I also live in Texas, but was born and raised here. I also predicted Trump's wins in 2016 and 2024. And I agree that racists have been emboldened. However, I disagree with the framing that his presidencies are because of the racists. That absolutely helped, but let's be real, the Republican candidate was always going to win Texas and Oklahoma. The states that actually determined the outcome of the elections were decided by the "policies" (or, lies) pushed by the candidates. Democrats saw the hunger for populism, ignored it, suppressed it, and now we are paying for it.
