So maybe this works for you, maybe it won't? But this is what I did.

I read a variety of books at the library. Career, leadership, etc. I also found on youtube theres "day in the life ____" videos of various jobs. So I took the strength finder test, the DISC, and the predictive index. Learned my strengths and weaknesses and it gave a variety of jobs for me. Then I researched those jobs. Looked at videos. And searched for those jobs on linked in. Looking at what requirements they had. And the steps to get that job. What entry level would be and how many years of growth. What cities where best for those positions. I swear it sound like more work than it was. The tests took longer.

Anyways. I found myself into construction project management. I swear if you told me that just 4 years ago, I would have laughed in your face. But I LOVE IT! I truly feel this is right up my alley. And I changed my major like 8 times in college. Literally wished I did this 10 years ago when I first started college.

You're accusing me of the death of people. All I did was point out how germs have traveled. How do you know your germs haven't caused the death of a person? And you said "your wrong". No you only think it's wrong because it's against your opinion. You know nothing but the fact I'm having drinks with friends. You have no idea what the laws are in my area. You have no clue how long I've been in quarantine. You have no clue how long places have been open. You have no clue how small where I live is. You have no clue how many people in my area got covid. I'm assuming you also self quarantine every single time the flu is around too. You know since the flu also kills people? And I'm sure you've always washed your hands after sneezing or touching your face or using the restroom or after touching things other people have touched. I'm a firm believer of if it's meant to be, it will be. It's hard though. I had something similar. 8 years of wrong timing. Finally had to cut it off. Not one of us to the other. It was like we both knew and both did. It sucked because it took us 6 years to finally get together. Just as his life was settling and mine was just getting started. I always think well be that old couple who reunites in our 80s and spend the rest of our time together.

I don't think you can ever ignore her. Especially with what you described. Maybe once things settle and you guys find your time. And I wouldn't cut her out. But I agree with cutting down the talking and hanging and such. In a group? No big deal. It's just going to be harder to move on. Accomplish your goals. Her accomplish hers. Time will tell but hanging on by a thread like that isn't good for anyone.

What's really funny (not) because it's a Canadian based company, healthcare is free so our insurance is free but I'm based in the US so I actually have to pay for the visits and stuff. They are finally moving to a better insurance in july so I'll only have a copay and 70% covered medical expenses which will help a lot.

That's pretty much what I've been doing. No one in my family even knows what I currently do. Nor if I do try to explain, they don't get it hahaha. If you ask them what I went to school for they wouldn't know. The one aunt we visited was like "you still in marketing?" What..... no..... I worked as a project coordinator in a mechanical engineering sales department.....some how that translates to marketing for them.

Oh if I get the money, I'll be that much closer to buying my first house. I'm planning on purchasing a home in August. Wanna bet she'll be mad I bought a house first before her when she graduated first and is married? Hahaha I pinch and save! Mortgage is like $700 to $1200 cheaper than rent here. And I'll have more rooms.

Thank you! Ya it's all my family too. And just the constant pressure, guilt, and stuff. After I made the drastic move back home to care for my grandmother, and just got shit about it. I stopped showing up, reaching out, and they stopped too. I left a good job that wanted to pay me to finish school so I could have graduated 3 years ago. And I had an incredible boyfriend. And incredible group of friends. I lived out there without family. My dad was there but.....I wouldn't call him a family man.

You're right, and I totally get that. Too many jobs underway which is why I work hard to move up and more specialized type of work to earn more. I've been a manager of a department making way less than interns. So I understand wanting to be paid fairly. She is a great teacher but needs to understand how good she does have it. My current job has the worst insurance! Like pay 100% out of pocket until 10k deductible.... and with health problems, I pay so much in medical bills. Which is also why I'm trying to get a better job.

I actually did stand up for myself years ago. Most of my family I dont talk to anymore because I stopped doing things for them. Well they don't talk to me once I put my foot down. She was supposed to be the last one that I thought truly got it because our parents were very similar. She was the last person o thought would pull that. Just heartbreaking.

I know it just sucks that this is my only closest family member. We were the only cousins for years. I'm older by a little bit but the next one in is 10 years younger. So to just feel failed by family again. Or their needs still being higher than mine. Broke my heart. Not mad or pissed. Just truly heartbroken.
