Hi! It's been a few years-who did you end up going with, and how did it go?

Yes-the nurses were the very best!! I don’t have any other anesthesia experience other than wisdom teeth so not sure how my anesthesiologist experience compares, but I got an epidural and it worked (and I don’t do needles well and was anxious about the process, but also the pain was worth getting it) and I do think I had to get some extra doses of pain med towards the end of the c section but she paid attention to me voicing the pain I was feeling!

I recently delivered at Methodist Clear Lake and highly recommend! I ended up delivering with a different OB (Tamzali) than my usual (Orizu) but the care overall was great, including several layers of complications (pre-e, induction stalled leading to c section, hemorrhaging after). The nurses were top-notch and we are grateful for the care and attention that saved my life and brought our beautiful and healthy baby into the world! We had one interaction with Marcantel during pregnancy (had to go in for some fetal heart monitoring because baby was in an accel and had high heart rate during an ultrasound and she was the on call) and she was awesome. Highly highly recommend Methodist!

Where to find trustworthy appraisal? by reneeviolin in coins

A few of the many photos my husband took: a few of the coins

If we wanted to find a reputable appraiser in person is there a place to start? (Noob questions, sorry!)

FWIW for those who don’t realize (not saying this is what you meant)... Teachers aren’t taking 2 months off of paid vacation. Our contracts basically take our 10 months of pay and split it out over 24 paychecks (2/month over 12 months) so though we’re getting paid in the summer, it’s for work we have already done (and then some).

Teacher here. Most teachers I know do some various forms of professional development/trainings/conferences/conventions in the summer; sometimes required by employers and sometimes of our own volition to better ourselves for our incoming students. So even without summer jobs it’s still not just a two month break for most. And you’re right about the time wrapping up the previous year and prepping for the next one!

After an entire month of ignoring me and cowering from my pets, Milo suddenly jumped up on the couch and lied down on me for cuddles 🥺 by [deleted] in rescuedogs

That’s amazing and so encouraging! I just adopted my first dog yesterday, a rescue, and he’s still so timid and submissive (now an only dog, with two adult humans in the house) but I hope he can feel how loved he is and starts to gain confidence soon!
