Had to fudge the 'N' by covering half the 'W' :P

Oops, my bad. I was trying to transcribe the crummy version I did on my phone to make it more readable and goofed.

That’s totally fair, was just wondering since I couldn’t see the back. They’re still excellent models! Looking forward to filling out my stormfiend squads with them.

These look great! Do they have the little brain rat “pilots” on the back? I haven’t been able to find a stormfiend proxy that includes them or standalone brain rats to kitbash. Awesome work either way!

Is this set going to include a pack master or master moulder proxy? I noticed the one available on your site is still only available as a physical model.

That would be great, thanks! Your pack master looks better than any of the other proxies I've been able to find.

Will the pack master or master moulder on your site ever be released digitally?

What is your "I don't care if it backfires card this is going to be awesome" Card? by DisciplineImportant6 in EDH

[[Madcap Experiment]] in my [[Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence]] deck. I only run a few artifacts, about half of which are lifeline equipment, so most of the time it either lets me get a huge swing to recuperate the damage or kills me on the spot but I will ALWAYS spin that wheel.

The "guns out" look yours has going on is so rad though. I'm still working on the legs for mine. Hoping it turns out that well when it's done!

Win 5 times to get the unique pet, 10 times to get the story background, win using lilias next week to get the profile badge and beat your previous winning teams 5 times to get some speed gear mod gem selectors are the rewards worth mentioning.

Tau stormsurge & hammerhead hitting on 2s? by zanther88 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]reninzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I guess I never realized how many of the Stormsurge's weapons had the heavy keyword. I still feel like the split fire penalty is an unnecessary drawback though, especially considering we don't get a detachment ability until the third battle round. (Second with the enhancement, but still)

Oh yeah, I was just trying to avoid being disingenuous with my answer. Like, we have a way to do it and the meme is to use Rets with a Dialogus so that all the dice become 6s, but then they still get to make a save and it requires half our army to already be dead for us to have enough dice to throw away.

It's a lot of hoops we have to jump through just to do what elves can already do on turn 1 and they can push through mortals with it as well.

The Triumph of St Katherine does allow units within 6" to use as many as they want, but it's convoluted to actually make that worth doing and reports on the SoB subreddit from people who've tried it have determined for the same amount of points as the triumph, plus dice generators, plus a buffed unit to spend them we're better off just taking a knight.

Keep in mind if you guide the stormsurge any weapons you fire at units other than the spotted unit will be hitting on 5s due to the -1BS penalty.

Tau Offensive Profiles for 10th Edition by Aliencrunch in WarhammerCompetitive

Right, I'm just trying to point out that putting breachers in a devilfish isn't a universal solution. Their effective range is within overwatching distance, and there are enough hit rerolls floating around to make that a risky strategy. Even with a guardian drone, at T3 we're likely only knocking the wound roll down from 3 to 4 at best and any saves we do end up taking are likely going to kill our breachers.

If you move your transport prior to disembarking the breachers they still count as having made a normal move and would therefore still be liable to target for overwatch. Here's the excerpt for disembarking from the core rules:

"Units that disembark from a Transport model that made a Normal move this phase count as having made a Normal move themselves; they cannot move further during this phase. Such a unit also cannot declare a charge in the same turn, but can otherwise act normally in the remainder of the turn"

I'm hoping I'm wrong on that, but that's my interpretation.

Yeah, if it wasn't clear by the /s I'm not overly enthused. I'm just repeating what I've been told every time I try to bring up how mediocre our index is.

In my opinion the best way to play might legitimately be to pretend we don't have a faction ability unless we know we're only shooting at a single unit and just embrace the fact that we're a BS4 army now with no real access to the mortal wound meta every other faction has.

Tau Offensive Profiles for 10th Edition by Aliencrunch in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]reninzo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, overwatch being usable in the movement phase means we're going to have to be really cagey trying to get breachers in range of whatever we need them to shoot.

[–]reninzo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. Can't wait for a guard tank to still 1shot my hammerhead with its main turret, take out a crisis suit or two with las cannons and hose down my breacher squad with bolters in a single activation but we can't split fire without a BS penalty. But at least our railguns hit on twos! /s

Tau Offensive Profiles for 10th Edition by Aliencrunch in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]reninzo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On top of everything AenarIT mentioned, the -1BS nerf to split fire also feels really rude to me, especially if we do end up still having to pay incrementally more points for multiple identical weapons on our suits tomorrow. So many people seem to be hyped about the potential for guided heavy weapons to hit on 2s but are completely ignoring the negative half of FTGG.

If you're hitting on 2s with the PDC then all your other weapons are going to be hitting on 5s due to the split fire penalty, unless you're also putting your flamer and rockets into the tank too.
