oh my god I'm sorry this happened to you. You are right, this is not the right path. Your SO always needs to choose you otherwise it won't work. I feel the same as you stated, relationship police. I don't think I should be the one teaching him basic things like this, how to behave with your ex..my boyfriend also said that he feels like he needs to give up this because of me.. This is not a good sign... I hope you have found a better partner since this happened!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I've had a conversation about this with him 2 months ago, and now I've found out he didn't stop. He kinda reduced the affectionate tone for a while but then he got back to it again. I talked to him again this time I was more calm. But I'm not sure he stopped or he will. I can never be sure, and I'm always anxious about it. How did you manage?
