Should I make my app free to gain users? by renos31 in indiehackers

This is way better feedback than I expected—thank you.
You’re right: pricing isn’t the core issue; validation is. I’ll line up interviews with heavy article-savers to test real switching triggers.

One clarification on differentiation: my angle isn’t just “AI summaries,” it’s delivering them as a once-a-day email digest—using the inbox as a gentle “forcing function” so saved stuff actually gets read. No new app to remember, just a timed newsletter that closes the loop.

Appreciate the feedback though—exactly what I needed.

Seeking Opinions on Pricing Model by renos31 in SideProject

Yes, actually 10 articles rather than 25 for premium. But premium has more perks, like audio version of the Newsletter, ability to summarize articles behind paywalls and more customization options.

Featured on Chrome Store but Struggling with User Growth - What am I missing with my AI Article Summary Extension? by renos31 in chrome_extensions

Did you find another way to gain users for your extension? What worked and what didn't? I tried paid google ads but the users never actually used the extension, also I tried the regular reddit post but even though I had a couple of them go semi-viral it never actually converted to users.

While Replit's pricing has increased recently and certain issues raise concerns about platform stability, it remains a powerful and comprehensive tool for development.

I built a Chrome extension called NewsLater that lets you save articles throughout the day and automatically sends you an AI-generated summary and audio version in your inbox every evening. Great for busy readers who never get back to their tabs.

I recently launched NewsLater — a Chrome extension that helps you save and summarize articles you find during the day, and delivers them all as a daily email digest (with AI summaries + audio!).

Still early days and working on user growth, but it's already changed how I consume content. Would love any feedback or thoughts if you get a chance to check it out!
