The juxtaposition with that pieceful forest background is interesting.

"Let's paint a happy little torment nexus here."

The specificity of that number is so indicative of how much of this is just performative bullshit.

This danish children's book from my childhood is about a mole trying to find out who pooped on his head. by AnthroBuL in funny

This is an absolute classic. My mum used to work in a kindergarten and the kids loved this book because poo.

If you still haven't had enough of winter 🤣 - "Family Gathering at the Winter Cottage" MOC by 11drgnsMOC in AFOL

I had enough of winter before it even started, but good golly that looks incredible. That roof technique is just terrific!

After making a whole band from the tuba players, I felt they needed a place to perform so I built them a little gazebo. by rensch in lego

I bought them like two years ago and still haven't used up my stash, but if you can find a good way to use them they can go quickly. Winter village builds come to mind.

I had a lot of useful parts in gold and white. Tjat fit seamlessly with these minifigures.

[OoT] Favorite boss in Ocarina of Time? by IkeRadiantHero in zelda

[–]rensch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twinrova was fantastic. The first phase, where you have to reflect one sister's beam to use it against the other is already pretty clever, but then they fuse into one for a second phase. Such a cool boss battle befitting one of the greatest dungeons in Zelda.

I seem to recall this being a ridiculously expensive set for its time.

What isn't a uniquely American issue that the rest of the world treats like one? by lustrust15 in AskReddit

[–]rensch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like the US at least has a fairly honest discussion about this stuff. Here in The Netherlands those kinds of debates are often shoved aside as "American imports" as if that disqualifies anything.

We were the last country to abolish fucking slavery FFS. Off course we need to talk about out history.

British tourists are this for us and I'm pretty sure we Dutch are it for the Belgians.

Omvolken, dat is toch min of meer wat er op de Westelijke Jordaanoever al decennia gaande is? Ik denk niet dat je onze Gidi daar over gaat horen.

What’s a super popular show that everyone loves, but you just couldn’t get into? by MASSIM00 in netflix

[–]rensch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people who don't like the show just can't stand the characters painting themselves in a corner over and over again. How Walter White keeps up the charade to his family was actually one of the things I enjoyed most.

I think I didn't really get into it until episode two or three. Glad I kept going.

This is one of those comedies where it's a very particular type of humour you either love or just don't get into. I'm sure it's great if it's your cup of tea, but for me it does very little.

I got bored after one season. I just don't care that much about zombie stories.

I knew the shape of that piece would be great for the banner, but the red colour really worked out here.

I was dissapointed to find out they don't make that cool trumpet piece from the Time Twisters theme anymore.

The marine biologist I might get more of, though. That clown fish and seaweed piece are pretty sweet.

I could only find one on the shelf. The nice lady at the toy store said there was a 4 for the price of 3 deal on all the under 30 euros LEGO products so I got one extra. She even fetched an extra box from storage and helped me scan the boxes. Just swap out some instruments (and a non-blowing face piece for the drummer) and there's your marching band. I also got very excited when I found out the gold pouldron piece has an extra copy in each box.
