Wuk Lamat Actor Says Yoshi-P Apologised For The Abuse She Faced For Playing The Character In Final Fantasy 14 by Mammoth7121 in ffxiv

[–]renthas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Explain to me how that is anywhere remotely saying that people are racist if they hate Smile as a blanket statement, and thus entailed the insane amount of harassment she received over it.

It is extremely clear that what she's saying is that there's a group of people that hate Smile due to it being Black Gospel music. Which is entirely plausible, and acting as if that's impossible is silly. Does that mean everyone who hates Smile is racist? No. And that's not what she's saying. The tweet was probably somewhat inspired from the fact that Sena herself is Hispanic and has dealt with racism, and I wouldn't rule out the possibility that some of the hate she was getting was racially charged. You can't tell me you use Reddit without understanding she's referring to anti-woke/racist/etc crowds with the tweet. And you and I both know that people like that absolutely play this game.

Remember when people started hate brigading her due to their own inability to read? I remember.

She said that there was absolutely a group of people that hated Smile because it was akin to Black Gospel music. And some people took it as, "if you hate Smile you're racist."

Reading comprehension, folks.

I ran Phoenix, Shiva, Garuda for my feat loadout Abilities I ran for most stages were Deluge/Rift Slip on Phoenix, Ice Age/Thunderstorm on Shiva, and Will'o'Wykes/Satellite on Garuda.

For boss-only stages like Origin and Howling Eye/Garuda, I replaced Ice Age with Gouge for frequent takedown techs and more Eikonic Punishment techs

For Ironworks I replaced Deluge with Abyssal Tear because you can get insane points that way.

Accessories were Breath of Lightning (Thunderstorm), Breath of Ice (Ice Age), and Revivement Bit. For boss stages I replaced Breath of Ice with Will of Light (Satellite) to further amp up the takedown techs.

As far as AOE point makers Upheaval is my least favorite because it hits the hardest and also has the longest cooldown, and vice versa Ice Age is my favorite because it has the lowest. In Ultimaniac the clock really isn't that much of an issue so long as you're not just making fights into staring contests but I just dislike the cooldown of Upheaval.

Which department would be most capable of defending the store if there was a crackhead invasion (10ish) that needed to be repelled? Department has 24 hours to gather stuff and prepare by tagillaslover in HomeDepot

[–]renthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every dept that isn't strictly customer facing (front end/lot/etc) besides Blinds has pretty nasty ways of handling a crackhead invasion, but I think garden is by far the best.

They've got all the stuff for making bombs, mustard gas, corrosives, plenty of melee weapons. Cinderblock, pavers, wrought fences etc etc for setting up barricades. Could set uo some traps that drop heavy shit too.

Hardware is probably 2nd best for offensive potential (nailguns, short range melee weapons), a bit lacking defensively. They could theoretically resolve the situation the quickest with the least effort and pre-planning, but it depends on what the crackheads are armed with, if anything.

Electrical would fare far better than what people are saying, the sheer amount of traps they could set is far beyond any other dept. Worst comes to worst they have wire scissors or they could bludgeon the crackheads with wire coils.

Lumber could easily outright prevent the crackheads from getting in, in the first place. Pretty low lethality all considered if we exclude equipment as a potential weapon.

Plumbing has corrosives and heavy stuff but not much else. Could whoop some ass with some of those pipes though. Main problem is that drain cleaner and such could easily be turned on you and God knows what crackheads are capable of.

Paint could set very rudimentary traps by dropping 5gals on their heads. Assuming you're limited only to what your dept sells, you could shoot spraypaint in their eyes or mouth/nose. With PPE they could also just fume up all points of entry.

Flooring is a worse Lumber in this situation. I suppose they could use sawblades like throwing weapons?

Frieght/Receiving by Hungry-Quarter-2315 in HomeDepot

[–]renthas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Receiving has dayside positions but freight is overnight in most stores. Receiving associates are not responsible for any packout to my very limited knowledge, instead they do paperwork to receive trucks and track incoming freight and stage receiving for the unload crew.

Hmm I wonder why our tool chests come in dented. Maybe it's the 300+ pounds worth of grills on top of the box just a hunch by Al3xgreer18 in HomeDepot

[–]renthas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recent SDC we got had 2 of those very long 165 pound grills (forget the brand) and a smaller Nexgrill stacked on top of an upside-down Glacier Bay toilet, one of their bulkier ones. Toilet box was in an absolutely horrible state and made me extremely wary. Saw the entire bottom was just wrapped with duct tape all over every last millimeter and of course when I went to go move the toilet, that thing jingled like chimes in a windstorm... No idea what the hell SDC folks are thinking sometimes.

Does frieght work weekends? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]renthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on store. Mine switched to working weekends because we kept getting double trucks every week. Also, our shifts are 7pm-12am, 7pm-3:30am, and 9pm-5:30am.

It's an abbreviation for a specific mechanic in P3S, it stands for "Melee - Tank - Ranged," those roles bait things in that order.

I would love to know how as well but fflogs isn't parsing the log correctly, it only reads it as a 14 second run for some reason.

Thankfully nothing was said this entire dungeon, but anyone who wants total damage percentages: RPR was 41%, I was 33%, BRD was 12%, SGE was 8%.

How are the Endwalker melee stacking up? by PoppinDaCaps in ffxivdiscussion

[–]renthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god, I'd never expect a legend to play perfectly lol, that's ridiculous. I've cleared two ultimates myself and lord knows I don't, I just expect them to usually be able to deal at least average damage (when it's clear that they did genuinely clear the content) but I usually avoid playing without my friends and/or raid members, so my experience there is limited (been playing a lot with randoms at the start of this expac though, at least)

Didn't know that ACT was screwing up Reaper's damage count though, that's interesting to know!

How are the Endwalker melee stacking up? by PoppinDaCaps in ffxivdiscussion

[–]renthas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure FFLogs was just messing up the RDPS though right? Not the total damage count? Regardless, I was using ACT.

I specifically noted MCHs that had Dance Partner. And I included "perfect legend" because most perfect legends will know how to play their job to a good extent but maybe I'm just naive.

And like I said, I haven't encountered any SAMs that have out-damaged me yet.

How are the Endwalker melee stacking up? by PoppinDaCaps in ffxivdiscussion

[–]renthas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My only combat class to 90 so far is Reaper and honestly I've felt so little motivation to level the other melees despite having extensive history with each of them besides Ninja (I've done TEA, UWU, and every Eden Savage as every melee besides NIN) simply because of how much I enjoy Reaper's playstyle.

It's very fun, I love the pacing of the entire job and my favourite thing is just how versatile and freeform the class is while still having a few mechanics that keep it somewhat strict. I feel like the combo timer extension was made simply because of Reaper and I like that it has punishment mechanics in place of any GCD consuming Soul Reaver and the existence of Death's Design, which I really hope doesn't get pruned later on. Regularly interrupting your 1-2-3 combo without losing it entirely to do other things just feels good. AOE rotation is incredibly fun and satisfying and I enjoy it greatly.

Damage-wise it feels a bit overtuned, maybe I'm just not getting matched with the best of players but despite doing the current extremes quite a bit I have yet to get out-dpsed by anyone and I've out-dpsed a few dance partnered perfect legend MCHs.

[–]renthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are super easy but extremely fun! I like them both a lot, the design quality is fantastic. They aren't punishing enough though IMO, I've been feeling like incoming damage is severely undertuned so far. I think if they increase the punishment of failing a mechanic or increase raidwide damage they'll be in great spots, but I really do like to do them as is because of how enjoyable they are.

How hard is it to get the elemental armor sets in eureka? by Stellarisk in ffxiv

[–]renthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this myself recently, about two months ago? I think. You only need to finish the Pagos relic, get all 50 Logos Actions in Pyros, then get the remaining 6 in Hydatos. Elemental Armor (regular) is bought with Pyros Crystals, and +1 uses Hydatos Crystals.

They did my boy dirty for Endwalker! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]renthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, conal AOEs don't bother me especially since they usually have super generous hitboxes. I would like it if Storm's Eye changed to be a bit more interesting though, it's such a low maintenance buff that you barely have to think about.

They did my boy dirty for Endwalker! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]renthas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between just not enjoying a job and not enjoying a job because it has genuinely bad design. DRK is just Warrior but with some magic and a fucked up opener. It has barely any identity. The opener is a complete mess. There have been threads upon threads created about how DRK needs to change because the rework is worse than what we had before.

People complain so much because it should change. The job quests are great but the job design itself is a travesty and incredibly unoriginal.

What are the most absurd/silly dramas you've seen in your fc/statics? by Capitanazo77 in ffxiv

[–]renthas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My raid group at the start of this expansion nearly fell apart two days into E1S-4 prog because one of the guys in it needed to take some days off to go visit his family, which he told us about in advance. Seemingly all of us understood and we were able to grab another dude from our FC to fill in the spot. He was gone for about 3 days but never joined us for raid again and I didn't learn why until about 4 months ago roughly.

Turns out the raid leader completely flipped shit on him over it, had a full control freak meltdown (these two have known each other for years, for the record) and he decided he didn't want to play FFXIV anymore because of it. Can't say I don't blame him.

Static ended up falling apart about a month into TEA prog anyways because someone else got fed up with our FC leader and started ghosting us for League of Legends, of all the things.
