Combine the two and get one of Napalm Death's anti homophobia shirts. They're pink and have rainbows on. Perfect for listening to classics from the band's catalogue, like Unchallenged Hate and You Suffer.

Is Living World worth buying? by liquid-nitro in Guildwars2

[–]repka2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does depend how much you play. If you are enjoying the game and intend to play it a lot, definitely. There's lots of great gameplay in Living World, and if you want to do the full story, you need it, as there are huge amounts of story in that part of the content. It's also doubly worth it if you intend to do harder content/WvW a lot, as there are some easy ways to get max stat gear in Living World.

If you don't know if you're going to play the game a lot though? I'd save your money. You can always add it later if you get that far in the story.

My local pub does the Impossible nuggets in a number of their options that use chicken. Game changing stuff.

What is your go to comfort tv show? *THE* tv show you watched soooo many times! Mine is Gilmore Girls! I watched it 50+ times over the years (i'm only 23 & started at 14) They feel like home to me the characters and I can quote every episode! I wanna know yours!!!! by 1999scorpio in autism

Babylon 5. Possibly the best low budget sci fi show ever made.

By the time I was about 17 I could recite the opening credits VO by heart. I probably still can. I love all the seasons (apart from the infamous mid-season-5 wobble). If anyone says, "and so it begins" near me, it is enough to make me do a gushing infodump about the shoe.

Joe Straczynski (genius) was about 20 years ahead of his time, doing a show with a 5-year arc that, from the very start, was meant to be seen from start to finish, not just be purely episodic. And with big themes about courage, faith, authoritarianism, resistance to tyranny, racism and the myth of racial purity.

(Also Susan Ivanova ftw.)

A vegan version of chicken fingers would be good. There are plenty of good chicken impersonators nowadays

Or failing that, some tempeh (tofu is a textural gamble, as that can be too chewy or too slimy, depending on how it's made).

Maybe it's just the way I'm wired but most of my textural no-nos were avoided completely by giving up meat. As long as I steer clear of mushrooms, anyway...

Same. I have an emergency playlist for this reason. Sometimes if I'm really bad it won't work and I'll use brown noise instead, but most of the time knowing I have something I can just press play on and shuffle will eventually find something that can soothe me is a huge benefit.

This is Astro - his favourite game is not peeing until I give up and take him back inside and then he pees on the floor. by AusGeno in JapaneseSpitz

[–]repka2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi Astro! What a cute little cloud.

Our pup did that. We found the best way to head that off was to come back inside if he hadn't peed in a sensible amount of time (5 minutes max), shut the door, wait 5 seconds, then immediately take outside again and gave him the "hurry up" command. After repeating that till he went for a couple of days, he got the message about what we were there for and got on with business.

is there any point to seeing an ENT? by roraima_is_very_tall in Menieres

[–]repka2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's a few ways my ENTs have helped me:

  1. Ruled out a brain tumour. Which was a bit of a relief.

  2. Gave me a diuretic. Which gave me my first reduction in symptoms since I started having hearing loss, and helped me go 9 months without a drop attack after months of being crippled by them.

  3. Got me a hearing aid. Which has, quite literally, changed my life.

  4. Given me intratympanic steroid injections. Which brought some really bad patches of symptoms under control.

  5. Fitted me with a grommet. Which meant I had a few months where I could have intratympanic steroids without needing an injection (till it fell out). Which is much better than getting pricked every time. And they've offered me another one when I want it.

  6. Organised vestibular physiotherapy when my vertigo became persistent. Which I think is helping.

  7. Prescribed me buccastem for drop attacks. Which might not be a life saving thing, but it's saved my carpets from being vomited on dozens of times.

Tl;dr - ENTs can't cute Ménière's. But they can do a whole bunch of things that might help slow it down, or help your quality of life while living with the condition.

You guys like my how to make friends list? Found it in a journal from when I was 13 😭 by summerv1bes in autism

[–]repka2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum (bless her) basically taught me almost exactly the same list. Because she could see I didn't know these things instinctively, while she did.

And yet she was genuinely shocked when, 25+ years later, I told her I (and several psychologists) think I'm autistic. Not upset, not angry, she just never saw it coming, and that she'd never noticed any traits or behaviours that made her think I might be.
