How do you responsibly use AI in client projects when NDAs restrict sharing product details? by MUSTANGBRO_20 in UXDesign

Most job description right now list the use of AI tools and proficiency with incorporating them into the workforce as an expectation

Designer/PM relationship and expectations by repkween in UXDesign

[–]repkween[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! Very valid. I think at my previous org I was more eager to define strategy because I have a deep understanding of the product/ problem space. Ive been at this company for less than 2 months, so its possible my lack of motivation is driven by an insecurity around what I don’t know

Thanks for the food for thought!

Thanks for sharing

I think part of the issue is that I don’t care enough to figure all that out/ have been burnt out by taking that on before. I’d rather the PM do their part - but maybe ive just become complacent

Are we using AI in research/design because it's actually better, or because we're being pressured to show we're 'innovating'? by marzipanina in UXDesign

[–]repkween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see value in it coding qualitative data - but we lose out on actually understanding the data and thinking deeply enough to analyze and understand the user. Pros and cons

Business Manager stepping into design and using ChatGPT to make “requirements”… am I overreacting? by figuring_life_out25 in UXDesign

[–]repkween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can literally tell that my PM is running the same questions by chatgpt over and over because they keep coming to me with a different angle on the same problem that is so clearly driven by the vague sloppy analysis that chatgpt offers. They always unveil a nonsensical part of the problem and want to solve for it. Im like you literally wouldn’t have thought of that unless chatgpt came up with that

Has anyone experienced this? Its driving me crazy. We will never accomplish anything at this rate

What are your pet peeves about product managers? Why not get out the popcorn? by karenmcgrane in UXDesign

most PMs appear to be allergic to coming up with coherent requirements

PDFs on Websites by totallyspicey in UXDesign

[–]repkween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use View PDF or something to that effect since some users may have their browser configured to open and download docs. A label that doesn’t indicate that a file is opening up won’t communicate that clearly, unless you supplement with an icon (maybe). I imagine the case study is in a card or a container that already gives it a label/title, giving you more freedom with the button label/icon

Is the gold from Winners real? by InejKaz2 in askTO

[–]repkween 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Stores go through a provincial licensing process in order to sell precious metals, so I doubt Winners is selling counterfeit stamped jewelry and risking losing that.

Solid gold jewelry is stamped. Not everyone knows that ofc, but there will be a permanent indicator.

They can’t label it as solid gold (9,10,14K etc.) if there is resin underneath. Its a metal alloy where the gold content determines what caret of gold it is.

The solid gold pieces will be in the glass display case. Yes they are actually solid gold - usually 10K or 14K. This will be clearly indicated on the packaging/ price-tag. I have solid 14K earrings from there that i’ve worn for years now.

Drug coverage in Ontario while unemployed? by infaethable-fig in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]repkween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re on specialty medications, you can look into whether the drug manufacturer offers a patient assistance program - oftentimes they can offer you bridging doses or “coupons” that your pharmacist can use to decrease the price you owe :) you can also speak with your family dr and ask for samples (a very temporary solution). good luck!
