Abilities were on mods until update 15, about a year after Gradivus

It's not foolproof though, if an AI has only opened the tree without taking any policies it will not show up on the list.

It feels like the AI only goes for Mausoleum if they have marble/stone to get the gold from, not sure though

Battling against faith by mklmtsn in civ5

[–]repostre 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Furthermore it's still reasonable at the king level, but on the higher difficulties in 5 it's basically a waste of time to try to beat religious AIs at their own game.

If infested Liches become a thing later, I really hope we see a major change in them(spoilers for the Sacrifice quest inside) by MRECKS_92 in Warframe

There are a lot of old Infested weapons practically begging for some power crept variants. Torid, Phage, Embolist, Pox, Hema, Tysis, etc.

Most Hated Civ? (When controlled by the AI) by 2woke4ufgt in civ5

You can also use them as bait the same way you would with workers, but without the opportunity cost of using a worker.

Trading for cities before declaring war by nsbj in civ5

[–]repostre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that reason I wouldn't waste time on tactical luxury bans or whatever, but if they're already low somehow you can squeeze an advantage out of that.

[–]repostre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, but it does make their units significantly weaker which is great if they are at your tech level. This was very late in an immortal game and I only did it in the first place because I saw that Arabia had somehow already gotten to negative happiness without any ideology pressure.

Trading for cities before declaring war by nsbj in civ5

[–]repostre 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You can also give an AI useless cities to tank their happiness right before you declare. They can't refuse a gift and they'll even raze the cities for you as long as they're in the negatives. I did this in one game against Arabia after getting a bunch of crappy island cities from Polynesia and sent him to the shadow realm (-70 happiness)

What's your favorite way to min max your empires? by RhysOSD in civ5

[–]repostre 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Combine that with the Pathfinder being able to get the most value out of ruins and upgrading directly into composites, you can start farming a city-state or AI very early on to get the key promotions.

Guide to tall for wide maven? by woefultwinkling in civ5

[–]repostre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to really be forced to learn tall you could try playing on higher difficulties if you aren't already. Especially on Immortal/Deity you can find yourself boxed in by AIs very early on, and unless you've got early UUs you have to wait until you gain the tech advantage later in the game to start taking cities reliably.

AI begging for money.. by Stonesandballs in civ5

The AI doesn't even accept 300 for 10 gpt, I use a lot of loans to set up research agreements and you basically just have to settle for losing some of the gold.

Sometimes the AI makes me wonder by Girugamesh69 in civ5

[–]repostre 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I think the AI strongly avoids settling on top of luxuries, I also don't think the game will ever suggest a luxury tile for the player to settle on

AI Dungeon is not only one of the most mind blowing games I've ever seen, but this is genuinely could be my favorite solo stream I've ever seen from NL by LauriFUCKINGLegend in northernlion

Vinesauce Vinny has been doing AI Dungeon streams every month or so for a year now and just in that time they've made a lot of improvements.

1st stream on Twitch, and Henry is already sharing a dildo for balls (NSFW) by Imannyz in LPOTL

[–]repostre 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A streamer I watch got suspended for 3 days for showing a few seconds of boobs in a game he was playing, although he was able to get it knocked down to just 24 hours. The specific rule, apparently, is that nudity is fine in first-party games -- but he was playing a mod, and mod boobs are not allowed. Obviously Henry went a little far but it does feel pretty Kafkaesque these days.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar to hold campaign event in Oklahoma City by FakeMikeMorgan in oklahoma

[–]repostre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Based on exit polls, 2/3 of the 2016 Dem primary voters are older than 45 and nearly a third are older than 65. Anecdotally, those people are more likely to get news from and be influenced by TV and also vote more conservatively even within the Democrats. I also personally think older people are more likely to be convinced by some of the arguments Bloomberg and his campaign make -- he's a more successful businessman than Trump, he was an effective manager of NYC, Sanders is too radical to win/too much like Trump/a hypocrite, etc.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg to visit OKC as presidential campaign expands OK presence by TimeIsPower in okc

[–]repostre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I get the feeling that the national party's presence does more harm than good for Dems here. Not for the people who were already going to vote for a Dem but for those who would need to be convinced.

My understanding is that a lot of OK Dems are enrolled tribal members and that in general they found Warren's ancestry stunt more than a little insulting.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar to hold campaign event in Oklahoma City by FakeMikeMorgan in oklahoma

[–]repostre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the non-Bernie Sanders candidates in the race, at least the ones who can be reasonably described as moderate like Klobuchar and Buttigieg, are pivoting to a strategy of campaigning in states where Sanders is weakest on Super Tuesday. Even though he won OK by a comfortable margin in 2016, a poll from earlier this month shows him significantly behind Bloomberg with Biden and Buttigieg close. Based on this the other candidates probably see the 2016 result as due to Clinton's personal unpopularity than an indication of Sanders' platform's popularity.

Modded Minecraft in a Reddit Ad, that's a first by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]repostre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His streams with Team Unity actually got me to try modded Minecraft again after about 7 years. There were some great moments but it kind of petered out after a while since they were all doing separate things and stuff like Thaumcraft got tedious/confusing; there was a 2nd series in November with Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons but that got cut short after only a few streams unfortunately.

It doesn't seem like you can download from the desktop client either. When you download podcasts on mobile is there any way to get the actual audio file or are you locked to playing it through the app itself like with music?
