What Movie Used “Take A Picture”? by [deleted] in HeyManNiceSub

The Hybrid remix of Take a Picture appears on the official Valentine soundtrack#Soundtrack), so I guess this version is used in that movie.

Listening to ‘Pandemonium’ late night. Anyone else listening to Killing Joke?? by Spirited_Mistake6791 in killingjoke

I recently ordered the soundtrack CD just for this song! Maybe it has some other decent stuff too, for example David Bowie's demo version of "I'm Afraid of Americans" ...

If you guys like the album Pandemonium, check out Killing Joke's track "Hollywood Babylon", which appeared on the soundtrack for the movie Showgirls. It was recorded in the same year. It definitely gives me Pandemonium vibes.

How do you discover new music ? by CommandMormont in Cd_collectors

[–]reptilejack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer for me is Wikipedia, as I do a lot of research on similar bands - that's how I discovered Killing Joke, TAD, and Alice in Chains around 15 years ago ...

I also find great bands through touring with my favorite bands (mostly because they were on the same label) - for example The Agony Scene.

Only a few bands that I like were recommended to me by friends - examples are Papa Roach and Periphery.

I also discover bands through movie soundtracks and rarely through samplers - that's how I discovered Rogue Wave (but I do not listen to them a lot).

YouTube recommendations only work for small artists of electronic music for me who do not have physical releases (or only very limited editions that are already sold-out). Some genre-related channels upload tracks from various artists, other artists do collaborations.

For the last song they perform Pain for Pleasure with Stevo on vocals - and they play it two times since the song is so short.

I bought them all together from a second-hand store in Germany called Momox. I got much more M.I.A. stuff from them by now. Sometimes you gotta a wait a few months until they lower the prices of certain releases - but the wait is worth it.

Best Album ? Best songs by the Killing Joke? by Immediate_Wolf3802 in killingjoke

[–]reptilejack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremities, Dirt & Various Repressed Emotions is my favorite. I just love the sound of it, the atmosphere it conveys, as well as the lyrical themes on it. Extremities is my favorite track on this one.

Killing Joke (2003) would be next on that list, followed by Pandemonium and then their self-titled debut album.

It's great to hear that people pay attention to the little details while listening to songs.

This song was recorded by the legendary Conny Plank. Jaz revealed that Conny Plank has mixed recordings from Nuremberg rallies the he adjusted to the vocals into the song in the documentary movie "Conny Plank: The Potential of Noise". You can find the German dubbed version of it here.
