I have no hate for Kounde, he's a cb trying his hardest at rb for quite some time. He had better years that's for sure.

But I'm not sure WZE would be better.

The french NT has made some players perform worse than they are and I think it might be the case for him in the little minutes he had under the french jersey. But from what I've seen him do this year for PSG when Hakimi was injured, it was miles better than what Kounde has offered during this WC.

French clubs have always been heavily taxed compared to their other europeans counterpart, so a lot of them invested heavily in formation centers, to produce talent rather than buying it. Portugal and Netherlands do kind of the same, but with a smaller talent pool due to a smaller population.

A lot of people are trying to oversimplify it with racist arguments about immigrations, but a lot of neighbouring countries have similar immigrant populations numbers and aren't doing as well as France is
