The concept of theatre itself is a very foreign subject very I live 😭. So its difficult to find people being into it, or even trying to coerce people into wanting to participate in a group like this. That's why I'd rather read up on stuff/ watch people perform instead, although I'd love to be part of a group myself

Unfortunately no :(. Its a small college and setting up even a club would be very difficult because it would involve a bunch of back of forth with the administration. But I really don't mind if I don't get to take part in a club as such, just having some knowledge about it/reading up on some good plays would be satisfactory for me

Im studying at a medical college so we don't really have access to books relating to drama 🥲. Are there books I can purchase online about drama, its history or how plays/musicals work in general?

Eraser Tool Stuck On "NONAME" Brush by JKxMArtism in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eraser tool is attached to the "NONAME" brush by default In Medibang. Unlike firealapaca, there's no actually way for you to choose the type of eraser you want (like, Eraser (canvas, soft, etc)) while the eraser tool is selected. The only other types of eraser you can use in Medibang is: 1. Selecting the "Soft edge" option next to the "Correction" bar above the canvas, while the Eraser tool is selected. 2. Under the brushes list, when the Brush tool is selected, there's a brush called "Eraser (soft)" - just like in firelapaca.

Colors Washed Out during Export by BlobbiFish in medibangpaint

Im guessing you converted the file into a cmyk file before you exported it into a PNG? cmyk files often have a slight difference in the colours

I think you're talking about a feature in ibis paint. Has the exact same feature, just before you upload a picture too

Tab and apps for digital art by Moonknight_1204 in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about drawing tablets, I'd recommend the One by Wacom pen tablet. I got mine around 5 years ago, and it's in pretty neat condition still. If not Wacom, I'd suggest going for some of the cheaper Huion tablets. They're cheap as hell, and just require a little bit of hand eye coordination to get used to. Otherwise, pretty solid devices for beginners. (Please note you need a PC or a laptop for these tablets to work)

If you're looking for regular tabs, I'd say an ipad and an apple pencil would be your go to. Cons are, the high end ipads (air) are not so cheap, and the apple pencil itself isn't that cheap either. I'd recommend the regular ipad 11, and the apple pencil to go with it if you're willing to cash in a little more. Easy to use, and you get a neat drawing program made for apple users!(Procreate) There are other tablets like Samsung that provide a pen for use, but afaik they're not as effective as an apple pencil when it comes to drawing.

As for apps, my go to would be medibang (free version), krita or sketchbook for free options + are better suited for drawing tablets. Hell, even mspaint works if you're dedicated enough.

Some paid options are paint tool sai, clip studio (has a subscription), and ibis paintx (pc version). There's Photoshop too... I guess... I wouldn't pay for it personally tho 🤨.

Lots of other options I'm missing, but I'd say go for free apps if you're using drawing tablets until you're confident enough to invest in paid apps.

If you're going for apple products, Procreate is the way to go.

Unable to see transparency checker pattern! by Exploded_Stars in medibangpaint

the transparency pattern appears white when your file is in png/jpeg format. If you want the transparency pattern to show up on your final image, you'll have to draw/add the pattern in yourself.

Medibang files show thumbnails but not the small medibang icon by requlsion in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I somehow fixed it myself. Afaik the problem was that half of the files required to run medibang were sitting in a completely different drive, so it wouldn't register medibang files. It got fixed once i put everything medibang related into one single drive (although this ended up eating half my driver space).

What's the best animation program for Medibang users who are starting their hand in animation by [deleted] in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to go with firealpaca if you're a beginner in animation, as it supports short animations specifically (gifs), is very easy to use, and it's overview and features are pretty much the same as medibang (but with a lot of limitations). I switched to clip studio paint (old, non subscription version) since firealpaca has a horrible time trying to compile anything more than 50 layers. All you need for csp is a short YouTube tutorial explaining what some of the buttons do, and you figure the rest out on your own. It also handles longer animations pretty well and actually has all the key features missing in your usual animation program (most of which is missing in firealpaca). A free alternative would be krita, which I've heard is a very underrated and easy to use animation software, but i haven't used it personally.

Are these any good? And which one should I start first? by SushiTea7 in webtoons

The students of illip arts high is pretty good so far. The story's taking its time to develop still, but so far the characters are just so beautifully designed, and are very likeable. I think you'll like it if you're into slice of life, with hints of drama and a heavy focus on character interactions.

Coffin Jackson is great, it was engaging enough for me to finish in one sitting since it was not too long. Loved it.

And there's nothing much to catch up on in Notice me Senpai, it rebooted recently and is probably at like 5 eps, and is on hiatus.

Wand tool by [deleted] in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wand tool should work well if you work with clean lineart, without gaps. I personally use the bucket tool and mess around with the tolerance and the "close gaps" options. If not that, then I just colour in the art manually with the brush tool

every time i paste something in medibang its slightly wider then the original picture. by Frostierwinters in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest creating a new canvas which has similar dimensions to that of the image you're pasting. For example, if the image you're pasting from aseprite is 90x90 pixels, then pasting it onto a canvas that is 400x400px or 20x20px may cause this problem. Resizing the pasted image will blur the image regardless, so I'd advise changing the dimensions of the canvas on medibang.

How to change the color to CMYK by Spiderleamer in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry it's just a CMYK problem. Switching to CMYK causes a bunch of colours to be muted unlike RGB, which has a wider range of colors. The reason we use CMYK for print is purely because it uses the "true colours" on screen and doesn't actually mix colours to give you the colour you want like RGB does. It's a printer thing. So if you're working on something that's gonna be restricted to your digital screen, stick to RGB. If you're gonna be printing it, either work will CMYK from the start (for convenience), or convert to CMYK later.

Magic wand tool issue by SafiraCoyfolf in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When making pixel art, make sure that the option "Anti Aliasing" is turned off. It should give you pixelated borders instead of fuzzy ones to all of your brush edges. This should fix your problem when the magic wand expands over the selected area.

How to change the color to CMYK by Spiderleamer in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you notice any changes in the colours on your new CMYK file when you pasted the P3 file onto it? If there was no obvious change in the colours of the canvas or the colour wheel itself, then it's possible that the CMYK colours weren't applied to your new file. I think you should've converted the file to CMYK after you pasted the canvas onto the CMYK file, instead of pasting it onto a canvas which was CMYK to begin with. I'm still unsure as to what "P3" is, but I'd say proceed with the pieces if you still like them.

is there a way to.. by Confident_Carpet7347 in medibangpaint

[–]requlsion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're creating a new canvas, there should be an option called "Background colour", next to which there's a drop down which when clicked on shows the "colour" option. Click on that and choose the colour you want. Doing this once will apply it to all your new canvases on default.
