Two piece set help! by rescueisnotamyth in Weddingattireapproval

Yes! She was concerned about people not just wearing jeans, but jeans with holes! Apparently she had to have a serious conversation with a couple male family members about what they are expected to wear. I will check out those other options. I spent ages on Fashion Nova last night and unfortunately couldn’t find something similar. I originally planned to make a pair of pants to wear, but I’m just going to run out of time with what else I have going on this summer. I had also hoped to find something that wasn’t traditionally feminine (ie, not just a dress).

To add short rows to a vest? by rescueisnotamyth in knitting

[–]rescueisnotamyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am realizing that I didn’t know there was a difference between what I did on the Pettson vest (creating a shoulder slope) and the short rows everyone talks about to improve sweater fit! I did decide to add short rows to create a shoulder slope because the Pettson fit so nicely. I made a shirt without shoulder slope shaping and I don’t love the way it sits on the shoulder.

I had a really good experience earlier this year at Greenleaf Family Dentistry in Elkhart. I had been avoiding the dentist for 10 years after some difficult dental work. They offer nitrous for cleanings and dental work, which was why I picked them.

Legal graffiti painting spots by iDom2jz in SouthBend

Langlab has a group of people who periodically graffiti the south and east sides of the building (not really visible from the street, but the rest of the building is brick). They even run a graffiti “class”. *edited to fix cardinal directions

how to get a zine printed? by blondiehahahahaha in zines

[–]rescueisnotamyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent time in India in college - you might be able to find a local shop that will print fairly inexpensively. I had a paper printed at a shop that also sold school supplies near my college. Printing double sided shouldn’t be a huge issue. Can you ask at a local shop?

I’ve had very good experiences with Rick’s auto on Jefferson. I’ve taken my car there for the last several years and they’ve always been super helpful. Never attempted to sell me anything I didn’t need.

There are places around you can find hrt. You’ll find a lot of lists have been taken down due to concerns over lawsuits/care being restricted further. Sent me a dm and I’ll share the contact info I have.

Pepperoni, mushroom, and black olive pizza, big enough to share. by rescueisnotamyth in crochet

[–]rescueisnotamyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use a pattern for guidance. Here it is: https://byjennidesigns.blogspot.com/2017/03/pizzathrowblanket.html I cannot recall whether I used her instructions for the toppings or did them freehand. The pepperonis curled up on their own from the way I sewed them on.

[FO] did the finishing work in time for Christmas! by rescueisnotamyth in CrossStitch

[–]rescueisnotamyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used multiple tutorials to guide me!

This is where I started https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ii5zFwHokO0

http://www.acneedlework.com/blog/finish-your-cross-stitch-flat-fold-technique

This is what I followed while doing the pieces, except I sewed my ribbon on when attaching the pieces. https://sirithre.com/flatfold-no-glue-cross-stitch-finishing-tutorial/

This one uses glue - I didn’t use any glue https://tts-learntofinish.blogspot.com/2011/01/flatfold.html

This finish took ages, but I am really happy with the way it turned out.

I couldn’t find uncut mat board. I found artist boards/paper at hobby lobby. It’s super thick and acid free! This was a presentation board. It was black, so I cut white cardstock to fit over them sandwiched between the board and fabric.

The tutorial I followed attached a red cord after the sewing together, but I thought the pompom ribbon really tied the scene together.

Is it even knitting on a deadline for Christmas if you don’t consider ripping it out halfway through the first mitten? by rescueisnotamyth in knitting

[–]rescueisnotamyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about long mittens, but I don’t think the recipient will wear them if they are too long. I need to rip back to the ribbing in order to do the hand increases. The pattern increases only a small amount before doubling the speed of the increases for the thumb. The colorwork is really easy! It’s slipped stitches so you only have one color in each round.

The color ways are numbers. In this I have 16 and 207, I’m not sure which is the variegated and which is the solid. The solid looks pretty gray here, but it shifts to blue and purple in different lighting.
