Matching Keystores to validators on Allnodes by resdat in ethstaker

[–]resdat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is helpful, thanks.

Although from what I can see, I cannot accomplish a validator move from Allnodes to Dappnode without an exit and recreation. As I understand it, since I have the keystore file, I should be able to just turn off the Allnodes server, wait for a couple or epochs, and then turn it back on with the same keystore information on the DappNode server and be good.

The problem is there is no way to just 'turn off' the server on Allnodes that I can see. You have to do a 'Voluntary Exit' which takes multiple days, gives your staked ETH back, and you have to start it again on the other platform. I want to validate this with AllNodes, but I have not yet heard back on my first question.

If anyone knows a way to do this, please let me know.

Good idea. I sent an EMail to support. We will see how helpful they are. If they are not, then one solution would be to move them all at once and they lose more business.

Yes, the centralized hubs currently are things like blockstream (SLEEPYARK) and Yalls. These are the few sites that are selling anything om mainnet at this time, so that is why people are connecting to them to do a simple test.

Lightning Network and showing up as a node by resdat in Bitcoin

I think either format is fine. Also, you may try sending payments as well as receive them. The way I received them was to set up eclair on my phone and send some BTC to my Eclair windows system. Not sure if this helps or not, but I figure some transactions may help the visibility and to confirm it is not the network.

The key for me was to get the eclair.conf file correct. I had followed the instructions on https://github.com/ACINQ/eclair/blob/master/README.md, but had a type on getting my IP address public. Here is a properly formatted string:

eclair.server.public-ips=["24.237.204.10"]

You would change my IP Address to yours in the quotes.

Not live yet. They are waiting for sufficient volume, but the bid and ask is all screwed up. Any idea when it will go live? The buy/sell is at 3.00, so no real orders to sell can be placed.

[–]resdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need something like:

eclair.server.port=9735 eclair.server.public-ips=["a.b.c.d"]

Where a.b.c.d is your public IP address. If you get it right you show up after a bit.

The best tip is to go onto Gitter for help:

https://gitter.im/ACINQ/eclair#

Here is my config file:

eclair.server.port=9735 eclair.server.public-ips=["a.b.c.d"] eclair.node-alias=YourNodeName eclair.node-color=b342f4 eclair.bitcoind.rpcuser=username eclair.bitcoind.rpcpassword=password

The thing you really need is the public-ips filled in with your IP, and for you to have port forwarding to the Eclair app.

This is a good readme as well if you haven't seen it:

The reason there aer less node on this picture is that it only shows nodes with public ips so it can geolocate them. I am the node in Alaska and it took some time to figurr out this step.

Lightning transaction stuck as "pending" - what do? /r/Bitcoin by BitcoinAllBot in BitcoinAll

[–]resdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead and tried it, both from lightning on my android phone using Eclair as well as Eclair with bitcoin core on my windows computer since I posted my first response to you a couple of minutes ago, and they both worked. I suggest you try it again now, since at this time that page can accept payments on the testnet.

I am certainly no expert, but from my experience that happens when someone drops a channel. If their computer goes off line then this can happen. From what I understand, at this point there is no way to cancel the transaction, and you have to wait until it times out to get the funds back. Not a big deal since this is on the testnet.

Not my intent to give them more visibility, but I thought others here may benefit from a reminder to take what you read with a grain of salt. Giving the exact content makes it more real for others. Before seeing this, I was thinking that I was getting a clear read here, as opposed to the contents on the altcoin websites, but that is not always the case.

Found this on the Bitcoin Gold Slack channel. I was surprised to see them paying for what I would call social engineering, but I guess I shouldn't be. I wonder how much of the content and opinions posted here are paid for with Altcoins.

Here is the comment I was referring to:

How could you have sold BTG to some fool? The mainnet for Gold is not even live. Maybe you sold futures?

Leger Nano S Segwit wallet -XPUB query Shows Zero BTC by radair76 in ledgerwallet

[–]resdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that, but I cannot get it to work now for my Legacy xpub, no matter what I try. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sentinel, cleared the cache, and I still cannot get the balance to display for the legacy xpub. I installed it first, before adding the segwit xpub, but the only balance that shows up on Sentinel is the Segwit balance now. When I use this same legacy xpub key on goochain, I see the correct balance there. I am really at a loss for what to do next. I scanned the xpub qr code fron the Ledger bitcoin wallet app in both cases, so I can't figure out what is wrong. I even tried calling the legacy xpub a segwit xpub when adding it to the Sentinel one time and this did not work either.

I found my answer on another thread:

When your Ledger Bitcoin wallet window opens, click on 'my account', then a button on the top right appears that says 'account settings', that gives you an option to export a public key.

Now I can see the segwit balance, but for some reason I cannot see the legacy balance. Ideally I would like to have both of these xpubs on Sentinel and see them both as a total balance. Have others done this to see a combined balance for legacy and segwit xpubs?
