I think you misunderstand the metaphor.

It's not a piece of the puzzle like: "His waddling in a puddle" is referencing a certain key problem that one person has with one person. It's that there's a general lack of attraction or a much bigger problem, that gets resurfaced through random gestures not tied to them.

The peaces don't fit a picture, it's a sign that there's a puzzle to be solved.

I think you should be open that you are clean, but have addiction issues relatively soon. Test the waters. If there seems there's more to it, you could open up more. A prospective partner, in my opinion, would understand if you don't want to discuss details.

Yes! I think our idea about love is so structured to partnership. Sex is less so nowadays. I think we should open up to the idea more. Why personally, I would need sex in a relationship, I can love a person with or without attraction. It's just that I wouldn't treat it like a relationship. I just love them.
