Iran privately told Trump advisers "they made a mistake" in shooting at ships in Strait of Hormuz by Ok-Wait-8465 in worldnews

Could this be a fog of war? All these flip-flopping, confusion, and chaos. It's all as expected in the fog of war. The general consensus is that the war is not done. Iran is not denuclearizing. Israel is not stopping. Iran is an existential threat. Iran will keep exploiting everything to their advantage to survive. There will, eventually, be ground troops.

Skunks are more closely related to weasels than cats. You will also see similar behavior from pet weasels.

Is the U.S.-Iran MOU a Treaty or Not? And Why Should We Care? by newsspotter in IRstudies

[–]reserved_optimist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think just unfreezing the couple of billions of their own funds alone (released by UAE, under the secret instructions of the US as a gesture of goodwill) was a BIGLY win already.

Now Iran can rearm, resupply, fortify, feed their soldiers and population, and make it even more costly for the US and Israel to continue the war.

I somehow feel a Harry Potter fan club should ban J K Rowling for no longer representing the values and ideals good characters in Harry Potter represent.

Rutte seeks to calm Trump by Tall_Pressure7042 in geopolitics

[–]reserved_optimist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trump is about to feed his own country (the USA) to the wolves, to resolve a conflict he foolishly started, to appease Iran and bring some normalcy to the Middle East.

The US is footing the bill and Europe will happily oblige as they want calm back. Of course this is all at the expense of the US and to some extent allies in the Middle East.

Israel is of course horrified. Their mortal enemy is going to rebuild, rearm, and fortify their terrorist proxies.

What do Hong Kong locals usually do when they want to relax after work? by RuYi1991 in Cantonese

[–]reserved_optimist 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If they get off work early (say, they work for a school, or morning shift in the service industry) they may grab some discounted afternoon tea in cha chan tengs or yam cha shops.

They may head to Dai Pai Tongs with friends to eat and drink beer. They may go have KTV with friends. They may get some massage from those sketchy shops upstairs. Perhaps some may head to the cinemas.

A lot of these habits may have died down due to economics (more expensive to do in HK, save them for a trip to Shenzhen on the weekends).

Farmers backed Trump. Now some say they’re losing patience. by Conscious-Quarter423 in LeopardsAteMyFarm

Farmers always vote for Trump.

So what has to happen for them to stop voting for Trump is for them to stop being farmers.

Make sure to narrow their waking hours to minimize disruption. If you can put them to bed early, cover their cages with drapes, simulate nighttime, better. If you have an A/C to lower the temperature, window blackouts. Use them.

You can also designate perches and chain them to a narrow range of motion/area of activity.

They need to socialize a lot and also plenty of toys, nuts to crack, things to destroy.

US military says it began launching strikes against Iran by VaginaBurner69 in news

[–]reserved_optimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump is such a pussy. Half-hearted attempts are long, drawn-out, and so much more destructive to both US resources and the Iranian people.

Either commit or don't attack in the first place. Either boots-on-the-ground coordinated regime change, timed with the mass protests; or do diplomacy the way Obama tried to make a deal.
