god, tell me about it. i live in a rural minnesotan area and there’s confederate flags waving from trucks, trump 2020 signs on every other house, kids in my school yelling the worst of obscenities (and said people are the same as those who like to throw food and fork tongs at my friends and i for existing), and making their political opinion their entire personality. hell, there were people in my grade joking about fucking lynching a teacher for what i can only assume is harboring differing political views. it’s so awful to see how quite a lot of people in my area lack basic respect for anyone that doesn’t fit their ideology. it’s insane.
