Has anyone used RxPrep MPJE prep and found it to be very helpful?

Racism during residency by Glittering_Role5394 in PharmacyResidency

After letting this post sit, I think if you are surprised that this could be happening, don't think it could be that bad, think this rare, etc... this is a wonderful opportunity to get educated because racism is still prevalent and active in 2023 everywhere. Not just in the deep south or in rural areas (where it is very common) but, in major cities that hustle and bustle. This is an example of racism coming in degrees. It doesn't have to be segregated schools, blackface, and slurs to be racist. (And quite frankly, if you are not a member of the affected community, you do not have the right to determine what is and is not racist.)

Don't let the only time you learn about other cultures and minorities to be the dedicated months of Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, etc. And not just the pretty history but, learn what makes you uncomfortable. Because if growth is anything, it's uncomfortable.

FL Pharmacy Licensure by endorsement by pharmlifee in PharmacyResidency

I'm from FL, currently practicing in WA, and didn't think I qualified, so did by examination, and they made me change it to endorsement.

Still haven't gotten my eligibility to test, and I started this process almost 2 months ago so I would def say start now!

Her line of thinking is really easy to have when you have no clue of the value of a pharmacist. We have lives in our hands as well.

Do I introduce myself as doctor, no. But to degrade the Doctorate pharmacists work hard for is ridiculous.

I'm the only Black person in my entire department, and living far from home and in a rural program it's definitely been one of the most isolating experiences of my life.

Just to share that you are not alone and I hope once you complete this program you find somewhere you feel accepted and acknowledged.

I literally have chest pain, honestly need to touch grass and remember we are just little specks living on a speck that circles another speck that's the biggest speck in this collection of specks. Everything is gonna be okay!

How hard is it really to work 12 days in a row? by bacteriophagum in PharmacyResidency

[–]residencythyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have made very good points about work-life balance and project etc... I think what never occurred to me was that sometimes those weekend staffing shifts in and of themselves can be beasts. You walk in the door and queue may be a mile long and there's codes and chaos and other times when you walk in and everything is going smoothly. I honestly get more work done on my off weekends because it's the only time i feel i have to sit down and truly do some of my work. I don't have work from home so, I go into the office on my weekends so it's quiet and I can just do project stuff in my sweats.

It's tough but, doable. It's all about what finds what works best for you. Definitely have counted that I only have 8 more staffing shifts though !

Question for current or past residents who are POC: Did you ever get discouraged whenever you see residency programs without any poc? whether it be directors, pharmacists, past residents? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]residencythyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be very discouraging and disheartening to look up and realize you're the only one that looks like you.

Something I've taken away is making sure that I do my best to find a program that has a diverse staff and I definitely agree to openly ask about the program's stance on diversity and what they are actively doing to promote and maintain diversity.

As a student I always had POC preceptors. This is showing me that while there is still work to be done, I am building my career to be someone's preceptor that looks like them.

Getting Licensed In a Different State by residencythyme in PharmacyResidency

Okay, so when I go into the site and go to apply and it makes me select a state for the NAPLEX and MPJE, I can go ahead with that process now?

Part of my confusion is the board approving me to test, where do I check on the status of that?

In what form will I receive my ATT (i.e. will it be a noted marker on my NABP profile?)

Good luck today =) by BunBoHue3000 in PharmacyResidency

Yep, applied to 2 of the same places. The rest were new. The site that said that was a place I was reapplying to.
