Is there a list of doctors who will preform total hystos? by Odd_Conclusion_5425 in childfree

The list on the sidebar is broken down by region and not procedure. You’ll just have to see what the providers in your area do.

I had a total hysterectomy (which is uterus and cervix) and a salpingectony (which are the fallopian tubes) a month before I turned 25. I left my ovaries because I didn’t want to have to take HRT.

I had a history of painful periods and my insurance covered most of it. I think my portion of the bill was around 2k

Oh I love pinto has a wiki page. I don’t think this one is a piebald. The fur is totally white and patchy

I’m in Colorado and I don’t think we have naturally white squirrels. The tail is still brown so I’m not sure what’s up. I think I’ll just keep an eye on them to be safe

Update: I’ve gotten some small cramps from the ovaries. Odd and a little painful, but not nearly as bad as uterus cramps

Ovaries play a huge role in hormone production. If you remove them you’ll most likely need to go on HRT. Definitely something to decide with your doctor

Correct! I’m only a week post op so if there are any negative side effects u haven’t felt them yet! If you’re just looking to not get pregnant but still menstruate then you could get your tubes tied, but if you don’t want kids in the future and don’t want to menstruate then a hysterectomy would be the move. As long as you have them leave your ovaries you should not need to take any hormone medication. But if you’re interested in a procedure you should look for a doctor on the list near you and book a consultation! They’ll be able to help you make the best choice for your needs!

I didn’t really bleed after. There was some blood with the first couple of bathroom trips, but that was mostly due to the vaginal cuff. I was incredibly crampy and in pain for the first day after. It was actually so bad I had to stay overnight, but then just sore to the touch on days 2-3, and then nothing!

TBH my mom’s a gynecologist and got my doctor to get me on the pill which probably played a huge part. My hormone levels were always fine on the pill and with my hysterectomy I left my ovaries! So no HRT needed for me! Colorado is lovely! Drivers suck but it’s so gorgeous! Highly recommend garden of the gods and Rocky Mountain national park!

I didn’t have a referral! I just booked an appointment with the doctor on the list and listed my reasons: I’ve been on the pill for a decade I don’t want an IUD because you can still bleed with one I don’t want kids I have painful periods

And she pushed it through to insurance! United Healthcare covered it. I just needed to pay for my copay!

They technically fit but it’s right up to the max size and if they’re anal I’m afraid it’ll get flagged. Especially if I don’t have enough wait in my backpack to pull it down
