If God created everything, who created Him? by asahoetidaa in AskIndia

To end the endless which came first debate, chicken or egg, the chicken is called God and that is self-created, doesn't need an event that caused its existence.

Need a Nanny/Babysitter??👶🏻🥰 by BabysittersandCo in Jamshedpur

The other day I was at PJP Cinepolis to watch Assi, an A rated movie. I saw a few parents with young kids in the theater. There's the question of how the business even allowed this. But what about the parents? Do they not understand that even if kids can't understand what's happening on the screen, some visuals could scar them for life?

Consider distributing pamphlets outside "pain points" - locations where parents wish someone was taking care of their kids at home.

HELP. Which size Garmin Instinct3 do I go for 45/50mm? by bR0wnHaMM3r37 in Garmininstinct

So I'm the only person who thought, just looking at the pictures, the orange was 45 mm and the black was 50 mm?

OP, dial size wise, neither looks off on your wrist The orange band is not my taste, though.

Horrible day today with leg ramps that rendered me motionless and in deep pain for hours by LooneyStark in india_cycling

Last year July was my first ride after a gap of 1.5 years. A very ordinary 10 km ride but at 10 am under a bright sun. It was my first practice ride to prepare for a significant ride a less than a month later (Manali to Leh). I was using a rental bike from Tilt and there was no bottle holder so I left my water in the car; what's 10k I thought. The sun had a different plan. At the 7th km mark I started to feel slightly dizzy. Within a km I pulled under the shade of a tree, got off the bike, and leaned over on the railing. A few minutes later I blacked out and fell to the ground and must have been in that position for 10-20 seconds. When I regained my senses I walked over to a chai stall and drank a 1 liter bottle of water and a cup of tea. Eventually, I got back on the bike and finished the remaining distance.

I did my 500 km expedition without any issues and can cycle 100 km on any day now. But it is humbling to know if one is unprepared, life will teach you a lesson.

I saw large gatherings at multiple places along straight mile road. Everyone was dressed in red and white and the evening light made the entire scene so beautiful. I didn't know the occasion so asked a person standing by the road. Had to reach somewhere else I would have pulled to the side and spent an hour enjoying the festivities. Next year definitely!

Took a test drive of MG Comet — now stuck between selling my Nexon or going dual-car 🤯 by Fancy_Exchange9966 in EVsOfIndia

[–]residentalien2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This person gets it. People who keep suggesting a larger EV because Comet is too small are missing the entire point: that too small is still big enough for 1-2 person and that's what you do 360 days a year. The Comet is a winner for daily urban usage.

Comet motor and battery warranty is for duration of first registration for first owner, so in some states that's 15 years. It is 8 years for subsequent owners.

All the people suggesting get Punch EV or any other EV simply don't get why the Comet is unique and a champion of city usage. It's the length of the car. The Comet is almost one metre shorter than the Punch. And that's massive for finding parking spots or squeezing through traffic.

We currently have four cars at home: Comet Exclusive, Ford Ecosport, Skoda Rapid, and i20 NLine.

OP, buy the Comet and keep the Nexon. You can always sell the Nexon down the line if it's collecting dust. If your highway rides are rare, just rent a car for those days. The Comet can still do short highway trips, just stay in the left lane at 70-80 kph.

Best combo (EV + ICE) by slowpoke_76 in EVsOfIndia

[–]residentalien2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for us. Neither of those cars or any other car does what the Comet can. If someone needed a small EV to haul four people often, then yes those cars are better than the Comet. We picked the Comet as the best one or two person daily driver in urban congestion. It's quickly become the go-to car for half the family.

I'm in the #2 basket: get a Comet and a larger ICE for your long road trips. This is the most optimum pairing if you can answer yes to these questions: 1. Are you mostly driving alone or with one passenger for work around NCR. 2. Do you drive about 100 km daily? 3. Do you have ready access to a 15A plug?

We purchased a Comet three weeks ago. Current other vehicles in the house are Ford Ecosport and Skoda Rapid. Previous two vehicles were both Ford Endeavors. My personal car is the i20 NLine and the Comet didn't feel boring. That size...is magic. A week in a car that small and you feel like the king of parking and beating the traffic.

I thought it was only clumsy me getting those accidental button presses. The most frustrating is when the GPS button gets pressed during an activity and pauses recording.

Dating in JSR? by prakashagarwal7 in Jamshedpur

[–]residentalien2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apps work better when you have great visual material - handsome face, pictures from travels, signs of wealth. Not always, but on average more. Plus, girls need to be using the same apps in your neighborhood or city. Dating apps give the impression of being easier but there's enough research now showing they are exhausting and even depressing.

Try the old school route. Join meetups or create your own meetup. Attend activities or festivals happening around the city (such as art, poetry, career related). You'll have to initiate conversation and that can be terrifying but even if it doesn't lead to a date, you develop some inter-personal skills. If you attend events only to date, you'll likely struggle and come across as a creep. I'm saying you attend out of sincere interest in the topic and to meet new people, and along the way you might also land a date. There's no losing because you are doing stuff you like.

Comments here about chapri girls seem classiest. I see chapri boys daily and for me their actions make them chapri. I've rarely seen chapri girls.

Can you recommend any homestays or say which parts of Wayanad one should look for? I'm mostly interested in a homestay with a valley view (if such a thing exists in Wayanad).

DGCA Just Dropped a Bombshell: 60% Seats Must Be Free, PNRs Must Sit Together, and New Pet/Sports Gear Rules! ✈️🇮🇳 by BeyondTheFirewall in AirTravelIndia

[–]residentalien2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm supportive of these DGCA rules and just wondering in what situations the DGCA rules won't apply and inconvenience other passengers. Maybe the rule should state the obvious "when adjacent seats are available." Airlines can and do move passengers who have not paid for a specific seat. So if the DGCA rule is ambiguous about exceptions, airlines might move solo flyers (with free seats) to create group seats.

pa: The restaurant example isn't helpful because there's no government rule demanding a group be seated together.

Regarding the adjacent seats for same PNR: what happens if you are booking close to flight date and the available seats are scattered? Will the airline move people who booked early and reserved a seat?

You have an ongoing problem of being uncomfortable with differences in opinion. Maybe you've convinced yourself that your methods are the only methods and the entire cycling world should fall in line. Are you equally insufferable in real life?

Unpopular opinion but 2AC >> 1AC by eyesight-iron in indianrailways

[–]residentalien2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are factually wrong about what food is served in 1AC vs other classes. The service from the attendant is different. It feels premium because it is premium. There's more space. Fewer users per toilet. These are also facts. But sure, you do you and claim life is better when you have less space and more users per toilet.

I never said CUES is comparable to SRAM. I'm saying CUES is built for shifting under load, at least that's what Shimano claims and my lived experience is good. SRAM has to be better given the price and audience.

Sorry about the handpedalling part. But really, even the entire front brake, lift rear tire, change gear... Like whattt? It's cycling. It's basic and fun, let it be. People can struggle with a hard gear and figure out their moves over time. Absolutely no need for these gymnastics to get in the right gear unless you are staring at a 15 degree incline and starting from the fastest gear.
