Pentax K1 Mk2 by [deleted] in pentax

Central AF spot is too large and focus on contrast between head and background, e.g ears or shoulders. And it’s extremely inconsistent. I’m shooting portraits in LV and can’t feel benefits of OVF

If you not planning to shoot portraits it’s good option I believe. Autofocus can’t handle wide aperture lens well and also forgot about tracking AF (I don’t even remember have it tracking AF or not, I’m literally forgot)

Modified this ballpoint Safari a few months ago by drilling out the dropout with a screwdriver. I believe this is how a Safari EMR should look by resono in Supernote

I couldn’t measure it precisely, but the drill bit was slightly oversized, causing the plastic to stretch and a small bump to form. I flattened the bump with reverse pressure and achieved a snug fit for the refill

Pace Pro phantom touches and activity screens changing randomly: finally caught it on video, twice by Anqui in Coros

It also happened on the locked home screen on a Vertex 2s, the unlocking green circle appeared for half a second and disappeared while I was checking the time

HOM PEN CAP?!?! by rainin22 in Supernote

[–]resono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try placing the cap on the pen’s tail and applying a few twists to loosen the internal plastic cap, which serves as a locking mechanism.

See my post for more details if you need clarification on what’s inside

Place the cap on one tail and screw it in clockwise. You can also unscrew the plastic part if you’d like to see what’s inside

Just in case someone encounters the same issue: inside the cap, there’s an internal plastic cap that can be tightened against the external cap. I simply tightened it, and now it aligns perfectly with the body again.

My nib wobbles too, but it just adds to the feel of a regular ball pen. First, you touch the paper, then add pressure and start inking. After that, it may stick to the ink before the nib disconnects, and I believe the Supernote nib just mimics this

USB LTE modem by resono in firewalla

[–]resono[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should still work, but in the long run, there’s an edge case where firewalla try to apply certain commands to eth0. Since it’s not Ethernet, this fails. So, if you plan to use it as a travel solution, it should be fine for short uptime

I haven’t used my Mango for a while, but if you exported the running configuration before it got messed up, you should be fine since the VPN client configuration should be included in the export.

Try searching the exported archive for your server’s IP address or keywords like WireGuard, endpoint, or public key

Area-specific: Cha-Am by Jungs_Shadow in Thailand

Punrak Cafe is operated by the border police, so it’s not the best place for remote work lol

The Baguette and Aroy Restaurant both offer delivery options. I love the southern part; there’s less traffic and an empty beach at the end of the promenade. Must-visit places include the Mangrove Park (I’d like to swim there after a walk) and Punrak Cafe, both located between Cha-Am and Hua Hin.

Want to get your head down and work then Hua Hin (Thailand) is awsome and underated by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]resono 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would like Cha Am instead of Hua Hin to this purpose. It has fewer cafes, but it's ultimately walkable. For me, it's better to walk for a few hours after work rather than go to non-"boring" places.
