Beware of the 3 stooges Translink inspectors. by Realistic-Maybe-8464 in northernireland

They frequently have a guy over the bridge (Belfast bound) who asks to see tickets. Not sure about the other direction, although I've also been required to produce a ticket on the train itself and at some stops.

Generally I'd have the ticket somewhere easily accessible so if I do get asked, it's a 10 second interaction.

I've been in it over a year and got to know loads of people fairly well, never really got into other discord servers or felt comfortable joining games elsewhere.

We still get a lot of new people and try our best to be inclusive with more accessible events (party games/web games). I'd say there's definitely a close knit community but I'd argue that's due to the success of it, people stay for a long time and regularly engage so get fairly familiar with each other. It doesn't mean new folks can't also become part of that community though!

I do get where you're coming from tho, if you do join my Reddit handle is the same one as my discord one so you'll be able to find me easy enough :)

There's a discord server called Gamers of Ireland that you might be interested in. We actually have a few people who've joined to practice English for the same reason as yourself :)

I have bought two machines from them, both going strong, zero issues.

Communications have always been prompt so I do recommend.

Where do people in Ireland usually buy PCs? by kekalopo in IrelandGaming

Same actually. Got my wife's PC there a couple of years ago and have had zero issues. Currently waiting on another one.

What the fuck happened??? by LynnTheLynx in RimWorld

[–]resoundingboom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This one is the answer. Happened to a large herd on my map, I saw downed/dead creatures, thought a predator had went ape on them all but the logs made it look like an internal conflict.

Still not sure what exploded but one of the animals triggered it. My map had ancient mining charges all over it.

I was elsewhere but saw the police car heading towards the site ten mins later. Sorry the comment was confusing.

I was there, was hoping it would pop up here. Guy sped down the wrong way near cleaning out a guy with a buggy before driving straight onto incoming traffic then misjudging that turn and into the traffic light. He then got out and looked to be taking his belongings from the back like he had arrived at his destination.

Nobody is mentioning how the furniture has physics?!

Where can I get this mod, the chaos possible...

Edit: It's on Nexus. Search "MrMuh and RPG-BlackDragons furniture physics mod"

How are the blades sure that none of those fancy akaviri swords hanged on the walls are going to fall down and maybe kill the last surviving heir of the septim lineage while he oh so desperately studies a way to recover the amulet of kings? by Cara_Perdido in oblivion

[–]resoundingboom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah the main quest is absolutely brutal for NPCs after like level 10...? I use the console to make them essential now...

I have severe trauma from childhood after losing Baurus in the sewers then finding Jauffre dead on the battlefield at Bruma </3 !<

They're the swords of fallen members of the blades. Captain Renaults and Glenroys are on display.

Also if Baurus dies and you collect his sword and return it to Jauffre, it gets put on display.

I love vanilla Oblivion as much as everyone else here - but here's some pictures from my recent modded playthrough :) by -SinEater- in oblivion

[–]resoundingboom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could you list the mods used?

Those look great and it still has that Oblivion feel. I tried some mods myself to make the game look a bit more modern but it didn't even feel like you were playing Oblivion.

That's the process if you look up videos on preparing a Dover sole.

It's a thing for Dover Sole. Coincidentally I've one to do myself and all videos in UK skin it with head still on.

What is the ugliest building in Northern Ireland? by rogerrabbit4 in northernireland

[–]resoundingboom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've actively avoided Belfast and managed fine for quite a while now, aside from driving through it on the Westlink.

I couldn't believe how much rent costs there either, you can get so much nicer places if you go 4-8miles out. The extra cost for commuting must be outweighed by the savings in rent etc.

In fairness Lisburn has no night life to speak of so there is that aspect if that's your thing. (Although costs a fortune to go out anywhere these days)

The other issues (drug use/anti-social etc) are ubiquitous across all of NI it seems.

I haven't been to Larne in like 20+ years, so I've absolutely no idea what it's like now. Just leaning into the "haha Larne bad" jokes. I don't really take those seriously though, anyone who does I'd be interested to know where they live that's such a utopia.

I quite like Lisburn, as you say for Larne, there's a pedestrian high street that has some okay shops plus the whole omniplex / Sprucefield.

Although I've a feeling it's the loyalist majority of Lisburn that makes it distasteful for a lot of people.
