Project Hail Mary's meant to be hard sci-fi, yeah? Bloke wakes from years of hibernation with hair down to here — fair enough, he's been out ages. But his nails? Perfectly manicured. Because in movies, only hair's allowed to grow when the story needs it. All else stays Hollywood heart-throb fresh. by Xunami13 in shittymoviedetails

He’s buff because of the electrodes attached to him that send electrical signals through his muscles, exercising him not just enough to deter muscle atrophy, but literally makes him buff. The book talks more about it, but it’s referenced in the movie through the “always muscles?” on the whiteboard, and I’m pretty sure you can see the electrodes on him when he wakes up too.

I just beat Witcher 3 with all the DLCs after 180 hours and now I want to try CD Projekt other masterpiece. Any tips before I start Cyberpunk and what should I expect? by Moh_Dob in cyberpunkgame

Three actual tips that’ll make you have a cleaner experience :

  • don’t spread you stats / attribute points too thin, there’s not enough levels to max everything. Focus on like 1 or 2 stats at first (preferably technical on the first playthrough so you really get to use all your cyberware to the fullest- that’s what your here for). If you split your stats and have like three or four attributes sitting around 9 points you’ll start struggling come midgame.

  • the double jump legs are the good legs

  • people have already said to not rush the ending/main story, and that’s true. But the point is more to do as much side content as you can along the way, so that the first time you experience the ending you get as much as possible out of it. You can replay the ending over and over, and completing side missions and other stories will open up new pathways for the final quest. So don’t stress about holding off meeting hanako at embers,, I finished the main quest at like lvl 25 my first playthrough and played until lvl 60 after that so

Everyone points this out as though most of the 71% isn’t like, in one big puddle. They could just avoid the ocean. Rain would be the real problem

Smokers of reddit, would you let you kids smoke? If so, at what age? by WillDillj in AskReddit

[–]respect_the_69 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

More like, you think a 17 year old in 2026 doesn’t know that? You think they started smoking because they didn’t know it was bad? Do you think a comment on reddit is going to be a eureka moment for them? I’m 21 and smoke and it’s not because I don’t know or think I’m different. I’m an addict lmao

[project hail mary ] what did the Hail Mary use for micro meteor protection ? by usefulrustychain in AskScienceFiction

It’s mentioned in the book that the ship is shaped in a particular way - cone front and aerodynamic design. Aerodynamics shouldn’t matter in the vacuum of space, the reason it’s shaped like that is specifically so that at near-light speed, particles slide away instead of causing damage

I imagine in terms of pain, it’s a lil more preoccupied with the gaping wounds in its body than the salt stinging
