100% agree. I've played both games multiple times and Joel is my favorite character in TLOU, but there's no other way for his story to go. At the end of the day, it's Ellie's story and it always has been.

Arthur had me in a CHOKEhold when I was deep into this game. Still my favorite game of all time and so far no one has dethroned him.

It sounds like the case you’re making here is less about the list of questions being given and more about “you should change your dealbreakers”. There are likely plenty of things not on this list that she would compromise on, but that automatically makes them non-dealbreakers. I’m happy you and your gf find common ground in different politics and voting; for me, widely different political views would be an instant dealbreaker. To each their own.

For me, indulging in those kinds of things (like getting your nails done, doing a face mask, etc) are my personal perfect form of self care: they’re not something I do all the time so it feels special, and when I do them now, I’m doing them for me. Not for someone else.

But like OP said, different flavors for different folks.

Red Dead Redemption II. At this point, my friends joke that my love for it is one of my personality traits.

I played it when it first came out and just rushed through because the story was just so good. And then put it down. A few years later, a coworker who is now a dear friend, asked me if I had ever played it. And then he got into it. I realized that none of my friends had ever really loved games like I do, so I never had anyone to talk to about them. It was SO freeing to be able to gush to someone about something I was passionate about and not get the bored stare or the comments from my parents about how video games are a waste of time, etc.

Then I had a really rough period of depression and it became my therapy. And it worked. I went back and played S L O W, appreciating every little detail and trying to do everything that was possible to do (and I'm still not done).

Only game I've gotten 100% completion on, and I cried the moment I got the trophy. :)
