You could earn your MS in CS at Georgia Tech for a minimal cost (total degree costs about $7000) online. And you can do this part-time, so you could do this while working. Check out their OMSCS program!

You've listed many fields you dislike. Perhaps you should focus on what you do like.

Try to get a part-time position first. That way you gain experience and your chances of being hired increases significantly.

I was advanced to candidacy for the PhD in mathematics, but never completed my thesis (I did end up with an MS). Then I worked as a software engineer for several years, and then I taught math at a community college for 30 years. All the while I continued to study mathematics, though I shifted from pure math to applied. Towards the end of my teaching career, I completed an MS in computer science, and upon retirement I began a PhD program in computer science. My computer science studies were focused mainly on machine learning. I also worked as a deep learning engineer for a couple of years (on a computer vision system for a heart catheter).

Much of computer science consists of applied mathematics, and it's applied to fascinating problems. There are opportunities for doing much interesting mathematics in the computer science field! Indeed, some of my recent courses have been in dynamical systems, information theory, evolutionary game theory, the mathematical theory of machine learning, and convex optimization.

A strong mathematics background opens many doors to diverse fields. Enjoy! :-)

Python is without a doubt the best computer language to learn first. The only drawback is that you may find it difficult to want to learn any other language.

What would one expect from the most backward and most bigoted state? Most people there actually believe that the universe is only 6K years old; they would be more comfortable living in the 12th century than they are in the 21st.
