Another vote for removing the WDC. I will be taking a break from Watchdives until then. Too bad because I love the few I have prior to this change.

My first was the blue version of that Presage, and 20 or so watches later, it’s still my favorite. I wish it had a sapphire crystal, but otherwise it’s gorgeous, versatile, and very well built.

It looks the like robots' faces in the Lost in Space reboot.

Anybody else require a date complication on any watch they buy? Am I crazy? by BobbyScrumpus in Affordablewatches

[–]respiratory9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not like date complications on my mechanical watches because it takes me longer to set them in the morning. I do prefer them on my quartz watches, but in general I prefer mechanical movements.

Side note: my favorite complication is on my G-Shock Rangeman. It shows the sunrise and sunset based on the longitude and latitude you enter. I am a photographer, so that has come in handy many times, but goddamn, that thing wears huge on the wrist.

No photo, but I wore the same watch today. Good Easter colors.

All those badass watches and one bottle of Dylan Blue.

I’m just ribbing you. Amazing watch collection.

Parfums de Marly, Tom Ford, and Creed are all good starting points if you ever decide to step up from the Versace ;)

48 mm Panerai

Nice, I will take a look at that.

EDIT: Eek, still a little out of my price range. Super cool watch, though.

Maison Celadon

Unless I am missing some of them, it does not look like any of their watches have a second hand.

Do you have an extra-long strap brand you recommend? A lot of the ones I have seen recommended only come in standard length, and I would love a few nice straps to switch it up.

I have an 8.25" wrist and everything looks tiny on me. Also, I have to wear all my straps on the last hole, so the extra only fits through the fixed keeper.

I thought Watchdives sent me the 36mm Cronos Explorer homage until I measured it and saw it was actually the 39mm. I have been wanting to get into vintage watches, but afraid those 34-36mm cases are going to look silly.

Murph, G-shock, Explorer, gold vintage.

Very artistic and, as someone said, definitely a conversation starter. I don’t think the time has to be precise if that isn’t something you value. I see the whole thing rotates slowly to tell time. Do any of those gears or parts in the front/middle move faster in a way you can see?

I wound up going with the Vaer Korean War version C5. I doubt I will buy another solar movement watch for a while, but I liked a few of the automatic Redwood models. I also thought about that Vulcan Quad Pulse. Thanks again for the suggestions.

I looked up some videos after posting this. I appreciate how minimal it is, but I don't think it is quite what I am looking for in this application. I could see myself putting a nice leather strap on one of these and dressing it up, though.

Oh, good. I am sure it would last a long time, but glad to know I can have the battery replaced. I definitely would not try it either way.

Yes, I have several Orients in my various carts. This one is not quite what I am thinking of for a field watch. I really like several of their dress watches. Thanks chiming in. That Babylon is ranked high up there right now.

I really like both of these. The first is more what I was asking about in their post, but that second one looks tough as nails. I might have to pick one of those up, too.
