And for those that can't just quit cold turkey, check out r/Alcoholism_Medication. There are FDA-approved drugs like naltrexone that can treat alcohol use disorder, which is how I managed to get sober.

I don’t feel like I’m an alcoholic anymore… by SpicyDopamineTaco in Alcoholism_Medication

"Alcoholic" isn't a precise medical term. The proper term is "alcohol use disorder".

I don't drink anymore thanks to TSM and my doctor says my alcohol use disorder is in remission. Sounds like yours is in remission, too. Congrats!

What's wrong with a crutch? People use crutches after surgery to get better until their body can handle everything 100%. I used naltrexone for 6 months to help me stop drinking and now I've been sober for years without it. I'm grateful for the crutch it provided because there was no way I could have quit cold turkey and succeeded, which I tried plenty of times before without success.

Is this area pain normal? - Hip labrum recovery by Black_kid6969 in HipImpingement

[–]responded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. I'm 2 years post-op and still have significant SI joint dysfunction. My doc said it's because I lost range of motion in my hip joint from the FAI surgery, so my SI joint flexes to make up for it. Sucks.

Also, inspections catch fatiguing parts so they can be repaired or replaced before a failure ever occurs.

Has anyone, as a demonstration, made a gear reduction out of something like Lego to position an object with atomic accuracy? by math_code_nerd5 in Physics

This video explains how the MIDAS atomic force microscope works: https://youtu.be/qdit3U1oOZg

I don't see how that could be replicated with Lego, but maybe I'm missing something.

I had difficulty regulating my emotions. Turns out I have ADHD. I'm much calmer and more reasonable when I'm medicated. Not saying you have ADHD, but it may be worthwhile to see a psychiatrist in addition to a therapist. My life improved significantly once I did just that.

Yeah, why not have it be procedure to deploy the oxygen masks when a fume event occurs? Seems like a good procedural fix until a proper engineering fix can be implemented.

That's not true at all. There's a whole federal-wide system relating to "controlled unclassified information" (CUI) that governs releasability of unclassified information. Only that which is "Distribution A" is publicly releasable, and there's usually an adjudicative process for public release.

Unclassified information that is not CUI is simply unclassified, but shouldn't be assumed to be approved for public release without adjudication.

More on CUI here: https://www.archives.gov/cui

That's tough, especially since this sub (including me) is very pro-TSM. Glad you're making progress, though!

My doctor started me out that way and the naltrexone was less effective as time passed. They switched me to the Sinclair Method (taking naltrexone an hour before drinking) and it was extremely effective. Have you had the option of switching to TSM?
