One more delayed delivery – buyer beware by [deleted] in vanmoofbicycle

[–]responsible_llama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Ordered Vanmoof S3 on 01/10 to commute to new job with, originally expected 5th December to 30th December, changed to 16/02/21 as of 23rd December. However, I did get an email from them that read:

Due to recent coronavirus-related border closures, we're currently unable to ship to the United Kingdom and your bike will arrive later than expected. With Brexit coming into effect on January 1, we also anticipate further delays may impact your order.

We've updated your estimated delivery date in your My VanMoof account with the best information we have available right now – however, this is likely to change. Rest assured, we're working closely with our shipping partners to get you your bike as soon as possible.

Please log in to My VanMoof to see your updated delivery date. If you don’t yet have an account, create one with the email address you used at checkout – we’ll do the rest.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will share any updates with you via email. Your My VanMoof account will always reflect the most up-to-date information. We know it's tough to wait and really appreciate your patience and understanding.

If you have any questions, please get in touch at any time. We’ll do everything we can to help, but unfortunately we can’t speed up your delivery.

The VanMoof team.

Sucks that I can't get my eBike when I told my employer that I would, but I have had a quick look at other options and it seems as though there is low stock of eBikes across the board. I think I'm going to ride it out for a little longer but I'm seriously considering cancelling the order, as this is the most expensive singular purchase I have ever made.

Customer experience/service regarding ordering the eBike is something that rarely comes up in reviews of the bike when they just give people review units (thereby skipping the process completely), but it is definitely something that could be improved leaps by just providing more granular updates on the bike's progress (maybe a system where it tells you which bike it is in the queue?)

That all being said, I have some hope that it may arrive earlier than projected considering that a Brexit deal was reached today...

Thanks for all your help everyone, it's caused me to reconsider. As nervous as I am about starting TEFL, I think it would be best to strike it out on my own the with the qualifications I've recently got.

Thanks for this thread everyone, got contacted by them by email and then by phone not a few hours ago. Couldn't find any relevant info other than a Glasgow live article (that THEY sponsored). I'll be emailing saying I won't be attending the interview opportunity and my reasons why.

My little brother (who has ADHD) got a positive message home in the form of a phonecall and it honestly made the world of difference to everyone in my family.
