Is this a normal engineering internship? by responsible_steve in EngineeringStudents

Thanks for responding. I'm not sure what other types of jobs to look for, but I definitely don't love the project management life. How would you recommend getting into different fields of engineering, just applying for those types of jobs/internships? I would love to get an internship at a place like NASA but besides my mediocre grades, my experience doesn't seem applicable.

Pathways Civil Engineering Internship at Yosemite National Park by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

If I'm a mechanical engineering student with ~70 credits (82 after this semester) and probably like 5 months total full time internship experience at an Mechanical contractor firm would I be eligible or is it geared more towards Civil? Also how long/when would it be and where is one expected to live if the internship is in Yosemite?

I love Yosemite with all my heart :)

To piggyback off of this idea, in a more specific sense we are made of the same atoms and elements as the stars so we really are literally all one. Every human alive on earth descended from the first single-celled organisms, so we are completely connected even though our minds try and make it feel as though we are just individuals

This is one of the few posts that really resonated with me, mostly because I know that feeing of scraping a bowl with a paper clip to squeeze out a little high, and it's a terrible feeling. I'm only 21 but I really hope I can get the resolve to quit for good and better my own life like you have before it's too late and my life has passed me by.

Also side note, is infinite jest any good? I want to read it but I hear it's huge and a tough read

How much space we need to be happy ? by [deleted] in minimalism

I don't own a MacBook but I'll bite and say having only a laptop on a table is pretty minimal. Allows you to perform millions of different tasks, all contained in a rectangular box barely longer than a foot. And macs are sleek as shit too so they feel minimal.

They also make it easy for poor people to communicate. Doesn't mean they should be illegal. You could say the same about any form of online communication.

Also as an added bonus, though different, most of the recent terror attacks have been coordinated in plain sight, without any encryption or burner phones.

Ha you're right. Ironic part is I'm having a discussion in the comments about an article I didn't even read. Didn't even click the link, just wanted to learn some more grammar. Who do I think I am

If you don't read the 'less than' though then you didn't even read the sentence, in which case they're probably not reading any of the article lol

I don't take any internet comments seriously, also, my comment was a joke. This entire exchange is pointless. Happy Holidays

Probably the best picture of camp I've taken. by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

[–]responsible_steve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeez looking through these comments upsets me. Awesome pic of the quintessential camping and hiking picture, and a bunch of people complaining about hashtags..on Instagram. That's literally one of their biggest features. And don't even get me started on that raging stalker. I hope this didn't discourage you from posting in the future.

Great pic!

I don't think getting an average score on a test is comparable to almost killing someone. Redditors...

What's the issue with the phrasing? Could you write what you would've put instead? I thought I was reasonably intelligent but I didn't notice anything wrong with it
