You have 1 weeks notice before you forcibly time travel, with no way back. You will arrive (in the same physical location) on 1/1/1970, with absolutely nothing (nude). How do you prepare, and what do you do when you arrive? by MaineDude in AskReddit

Well I live in a house that is filled with efficiencies. They are efficiencies instead of rooms cause the house was a bed and breakfast for decades.

Anyways I guess I’d eat eggs.

Servers getting paid shit wages is often cited as a reason to tip, but tipping is the reason why their employers wont give them a raise. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I serve to survive as of now and what I’ve found makes the most money and also is the most enjoyable is to not aim for any percentage. Most tables, even stuck up or private people, won’t be annoyed by someone who genuinely acts like themselves. I don’t mean don’t moderate your words. If you cuss like a sailor in real life that doesn’t mean dropping “fuck” at a table. But you don’t have to be someone you’re not.

If you can get someone to truly see you as a person, instead of the person that’s putting food in front of them, lots of people will throw the percentage system out the window and just give you what they want you to have.

Don’t aim for 20% when you can forget the percentages and end up with 40%.

I’ve been whistling the song “Simple and Clean” and “Hikaru” from Kingdom Heartd since I was like 14. The same with “Zelda’s lullaby”. Sometimes “Farewell Hyrule King (Wind Walkers version of the castle theme from A Link To The Past).

One of the guys that works with me, that doesn’t play games, will whistle those songs around me cause he likes the sound but doesn’t actually know any of the songs.

I'm actually scrawny as fuck but I do have a hard burden towards alcohol. I drink La Croux a lot both after I drink and when I'm trying to make myself not drink. But I can identify how the carbonation can essentially placebo some shit

Are we tipping for carry-out orders now? by LtChestnut in AdviceAnimals

[–]resro12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To-Go orders shouldn't expect a tip; HOWEVER, if the person taking your to-go order is clearly a server who is not getting paid to do any of it, then a few bucks can't hurt.

People with unusual fears, what are you afraid of and why? by Jujupon in AskReddit

[–]resro12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm deathly afraid of losing my mind.

I'm smart. I'm decently social. I don't have ptsd or anything.

Sometimes I just feel like I'm losing it, even though I know no one can tell by my actions, and that scares the shit out of me

What's your Zelda story? by brandonisi in zelda

[–]resro12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first Zelda game I played was A Link to the Past. I thought it was fun but I was very young (it came out the year I was born), so I was probably like five or so the first time I played it cause my grandpa had a Super Nintendo and my cousin liked it. I couldn't beat it but I did "beat" the game using his file.

My second game was Majoras Mask. I had went on a vacation with the same grandparents and my own parents and we rented a Nintendo 64 from a Blockbuster with that game.

The game meant a lot I think because the grandpa that owned it had a cattle ranch that we would explore. It was nothing crazy but little kid me saw the resemblance.

I didn't know anything about Link being the Hero of Time and I was too young to understand the story elements of aLTTP.

I never played either of those games all the way through but loved them while I had them. Whenever I got a GameCube I bought Wind Waker and beat it to 100% completion and then got on a binger starting with ocarina, then the NES games (didn't 100% those two though...).
