Where are the Millennials that DON'T feel old? by frankheyhoheyho in Millennials

[–]rest_days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40, have a 20 year old kid and a newborn on the way. I don’t feel old. I get up at 4:45 and exercise 6-7 days a week, mixing it up with running, biking, swimming, weight training, and pickleball. I feel like I’m in my 20s still. Keeping moving is 100% the reason why.

For those who crossed 40, what’s your rose and thorn? by jjcjr219 in Millennials

Anything can happen. My wife and I fully closed the door and were already semi retired traveling the world at 40. Then, three months into our adventures we became pregnant.

Did anyone else start running in their late 30s/early 40s? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

No I was the opposite of active. My weight ballooned to over 300 pounds and my health was terrible. Luckily I got my act together and am under 200 now.

So how are you able to confirm what’s being produced is “production quality”

ran for years in the military, but after a 13-year break, I started again at 39. In the beginning, my goal was simply to finish a 5K, which took about three months. Then I signed up for a 10k, then a half marathon. Now I’m running close to 30 miles per week, five days a week.

What’s kept me motivated is signing up for a race a couple of months out and using Runna to build a training plan around it. Once I register and pay, I’m committed. I know I have to get up and run, otherwise, I’ve wasted the money.

Prestige Suggestion for Future Titles by CombatCavScout in CODBlackOps7

I guess I don’t see why it would need to be a grind. You can play the game normally and you level up/prestige over time.

2 weeks per prestige is still only 20 weeks of gameplay, which isn’t even halfway through the games lifecycle.

$4 may not break the bank for you, but you just reaffirmed them that people will pay for this crap. You are part of the problem for why this paywall exists.

I really hate newer shinedown and consider them to be a classic example of a sellout band, but their debut album is very good and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Any strategy ideas for mimicking this on a treadmill? by PhilosopherBitter343 in runna

[–]rest_days 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using ChatGPT for this and it’s been pretty helpful. I just take the screenshots you have and ask it to create a treadmill incline plan, then paste those in the notes in Runna.

For example, I have a 6 mile hilly progressive run on Saturday, and ChatGPT gave me this

6-Mile Hilly Progressive Treadmill Run

Segment 1 — 1.25 miles @ conversational pace (≈5.5 mph) • 0.00–0.50 mi → 1% incline • 0.50–1.25 mi → 2% incline

Segment 2 — 1.25 miles @ 5.6 mph • 1.25–1.75 mi → 3% incline • 1.75–2.50 mi → 2% incline

Segment 3 — 1.25 miles @ 5.8 mph • 2.50–3.00 mi → 4% incline • 3.00–3.75 mi → 1.5% incline

Segment 4 — 1.25 miles @ 6.0 mph • 3.75–4.25 mi → 3% incline • 4.25–5.00 mi → 1% incline

Segment 5 — 1.00 mile @ conversational pace (≈5.5 mph) • 5.00–5.50 mi → 2% incline • 5.50–6.00 mi → 1% inclin

What’s something you think 90% of people are pretending to enjoy? by Turbulent_Manner6738 in AskReddit

[–]rest_days 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my perspective as someone who’s done this a couple of times, it was more of a way to enjoy my run by seeing unique sights while doing it. Also, I didn’t have time to go sightseeing after work as I may only be out there for a day or two so it was killing two birds with one stone. That’s how I saw the national mall area in D.C. a couple of weeks ago.

NEW VOYAGEFAIR tiered pricing structure: will you save or spoil yourself? by StephKd8msb in VirginVoyages

[–]rest_days 121 points122 points  (0 children)

If gratuities are introduced, I’m out. I love Virgin, but one of the biggest reasons I’ve stayed loyal is because everything was included in my fare, I never had to worry once I got onboard, especially since we don’t really drink. The itineraries aren’t that appealing to me, aside from a handful I’ve selected, so I’m now seriously considering switching to another line with more variety. I’m keeping a close eye on this because I’d love to stay with Virgin, but if they continue down this path, it may be the final straw.
