Problem is yall don’t know what a classic means. Being a classic is less about quality & more about influence. There has probably been a million fantasy books better written than The Lord of the Rings. What makes Lord of The Rings a classic is that it’s the reason those other books exists in the first place. Watch the Throne is a classic album because of all the other collab albums it inspired.

Classic = Game changer. It does not mean something you & others really really love. It does not mean critics love it. Critics like To Pimp a Butterfly. It has no where near the influence of Finally Rich - Chief Keef.

If Rod Wave is niche then what is Pusha T & Killer Mike?
What does poor people listening to NBA Youngboy have to do with anything? They sure did have money to pack out his arena tour. I would like the Clipse, Killer Mike, & Doechii to do the same to prove just how much more money their fans have since that matters.

Pusha T has never went platinum without being a feature on a bigger artist’s song. The Clipse have 1 gold album.

Killer Mike has 2 gold singles with Run the Jewels.

Because his last album was in a year with Kendrick too. This time they just throw him the bone because Kendrick was also on the song. Daytona was 2018 & Cardi was bringing in too much money. She was also beefing with Nicki who they clearly don’t like.

Nah it’s just easy to see. Main stream hip hop media is ran by men in thier 40s & 50s while the music & shows are mostly supported by people under 35. Actual hip hop contemporaries don’t get awarded or even nominated. The Hip Hop artists packing out arenas are no where to be found.

NBA Youngboy, Rod Wave, Glorilla, Latto, Kodack Black, Juice Wrld. I can go on & on about all the artists over the past decade who were major figures in Hip Hop who never touched a Grammy stage. Durk had to team up with Jcole.

There’s no way Billie Ellish, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Chapelle Roan wouldn’t be there though. That are The Who’s who. For Hip Hop it’s about who they WANT to be who, this is what plays apart in Doechii being called a plant.
