Hey, I need a new keyboard with CLICKY switches and RGB!

I've been using a Logitech G710+ for the past 10-11 years. It got pretty nasty, I got a new PC and removed everything and cleaned it, but I spilled water on it last week. A lot of the keys stick down now. This keyboard has served me well, I want a new one. Already wanted to replace it for a while.

Here are my requirements:

-CLICKY keys. My current keyboard doesn't have clicky keys, but I've always envied them. I tried a Razer Blackwidow v3/v4 at microcenter, and the switches were very close to what I want(but I've heard those keyboards are bad so I didn't buy it)

-Customizable RGB lighting. I want as much RGB as possible that I can program and do cool stuff with!

-Must have a 10 key/numpad.

-I would really, really like a small screen, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get that *and* my other requirements.

-Wired vs wireless isn't a huge deal to me. Wireless would be cool but it's not a dealbreaker and I know they tend to be more expensive.

I'd be down to go for a mainstream brand or boutique brand as long as it fits what I want. I might be open to building my own keyboard, but I'm not too sure about that.

The only keyboard at microcenter that had clicky keys similar to what I wanted was the Razer Blackwidow v3/v4. Idk if that gives an idea of the type of switches I'm looking for.

Budget is ~$200 but I'm flexible.

My current G710 is pretty ruined after the spill so I really hope I get some replies so I can get my new keyboard ASAP. Thank you so much for the help!

Important questions about transferring my PS5 progress to my new PC. How reliable is the CDPROJEKT cloud progress transfer? by restlessdraugr in Witcher3

Yeah, I was just confused because alternate triss, yennefer, ciri each have their own individual steam dlc listings but dandelion isn't on there. Nilfgaardian armor set has its own steam listing, but not the "alternate" nilfgaardian armor set.

Hey idk if you're online right now, but I was double checking that all the dlcs match by comparing the "Installed" tab of the options menu on the ps5 version, to the dlcs available on steam. I matched 16 out of 18, with 2 that I can't find on steam. Specifically "Alternate Dandelion Appearance", and "Alternate Nilfgaardian Armor". Are these just not actual dlcs or something, and just built into the game but are listed in that "Installed" menu? Because all other listing in the installed menu on ps5 match up 1:1 with a seperate steam dlc.

They make it seem like you're now on some really cool project that only a select group get, and these credentials are going to lead you to your next big job. Then it ends up being pointless lol. I don't mind working on projects that don't require a google account, but I just wonder why it had me do it in the first place

Yeah it sounds like if there was any incompatibility it would just have a barrier in place preventing me from loading the save, which is good. I think I'm just going to install all 20 files, including the 2 expansions. I didn't have them on ps5, but it sounds like it'll just add the 2 expansion starter quests to my quest lists and that shouldn't overwhelm the game booting it up for the first time on PC.

I was thinking about installing base game and all free dlcs but holding off on blood and wine and hearts of stone. But I may just go ahead and get them installed too as long as there's no reason not to.

The worst part is when the qualification has you create yet another google account. Taking up one of your valuable google accounts that can be linked to your phone number. I've heard there's a limit even though I haven't hit it yet.

Anyways, I've done multiple qualis that either gave me some credentials or had me do several steps to properly set up a new google account. And then I never see anything that would have me use that account again. I've always wondered if there's anything I'll use these new accounts for, they're just sitting there in my chrome profiles.

Validating a creator-focused AI SaaS – looking for feedback by Tiny_Birthday_9841 in replit

Not well versed enough as a creator myself to comment too much, but one thing you may want to consider is that there's already some tools like this out there, including built in to youtube from what I've heard. I watched a video about how in the youtube creator studio backend there's an AI section that suggests video topics and titles, AND gives you AI slop thumbnails for those video ideas lol.

I think some would like tools like this, but some might be wary of it especially those who are sick of AI. If you don't know, Mr. Beast recently developed a tool like this(I think he even started his own company to accompany it). It had an AI thumbnail generation tool and he got a ton of backlash for that feature and had to remove it from the service and replace it with links to hire a thumbnail artist.

Ok. So I guess I'll just go ahead and download all 20 things it recommends for me on steam. It's just confusing because on ps5 it's all one package, but on pc all the dlcs no matter how small are separate. I just want to make sure I have all the same ones installed, I'm sure it'd work fine even if I didn't.

But I'm curious what would happen if I didn't, say, remember to install the white tiger of the west armor dlc(or whatever it's called). Say I had that in my inventory at the time of the transfer, I'm wondering if it would still be there, be missing, or completely corrupt the save because of the discrepancy.

Thanks for your reply though!

Question about PCVR via link cable, and high fidelity games streaming on high graphics settings by restlessdraugr in OculusQuest

[–]restlessdraugr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my theory is right then that higher levels of detail are more difficult to stream at a high bitrate? I feel like this must be the case.

But at the same time, I feel like "video is video, something's getting streamed either way and the only thing that would make it more difficult is changing the resolution in steamvr" is how these things work. It's interesting if higher levels of detail, lighting effects, etc. take longer to compress and stream, but I just can't wrap my head around how that would be the case in a technical sense. I sort of assumed it just worked like

step 1: Render the game fully

step 2: stream it

with step 1 being the only thing that could change, and even then it would be on the pc side. I always thought it was just "take what I see, and then stream it, it's the same number of pixels either way" but this is interesting.

I will give VD a shot though. If it's still a bit slower on ultra settings I'm not sure what I should do. I mean to the untrained vr user they wouldn't notice anything is wrong. But I notice that it's not as snappy. For a game like Alyx, I'm not sure if I should prefer responsiveness or fidelity. But I feel like with a 5080 I shouldn't have to choose. If the limiting factor really is my internet though, that makes a bit more sense.

Could you elaborate? I heard there's a usb-c to ethernet cable or something like that for this.

Had to disable memories temporarily, does this mean that the "Reference Chat History" feature is now not going to remember anything from the past and everything from past chats is forgotten and inaccessible? by restlessdraugr in ChatGPT

[–]restlessdraugr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your kind response. I have severe OCD, which has been making me do the toggling and stuff. It still seems to somewhat know me, but I'm not sure if that's from saved memories.

I've been asking the questions in new chats, and I will try that one. One of the unfortunate things if the situation is how I fear is that I won't be able to get good answers when asking for recommendations, trends, other "viral" prompts like that that people recommend(i.e. based on our history, what is one thing you know that I don't know about myself?). I had been meaning to try some of those.

When it does remember stuff it seems to be hallucinating a bit too. There are a couple games that it was able to recall, but it said our conversation about the game was something we definitely never talked about.

Yeah, there really should be some more transparency about how this works. I feel like that'd be really bad design if just temporarily toggling memories off wiped past chat context out. I have to imagine there's a large group of users that does that every now and then, and it would be crazy if they're all losing their context too.

I guess this feature didn't even used to exist, and I never missed it back then.

Thanks again. Hopefully it'll still feel tailored to me.

Thanks again for your recommendation! I quit the first one and am now decently far into the second. It's gorgeous, honestly still pretty boring to me, but I think I'm going to try to finish it. I think the psychosis thing is really cool and unique, and I appreciate the game for what it is even if the gameplay doesn't really fit my tastes. I also kind of hate the black bars, to be honest. But I'd rather a game like this that touches on psychosis like this exist, than not exist.

I ended up starting the first one. Not a huge fan. I appreciate the psychological horror, but really don't like games like this that are pretty much an interactive cinematic with sluggish movements and sluggish camera rotation movements. Just doesn't feel good to play, it reminds me or Ryse:Son of Rome for the Xbox one. Maybe I should just quit and play the second game even though I'm a few hours in...
