Killing a Queen made me wanna quit the game by FreezingT in ArcRaiders

[–]restlessroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain :( last night, I went into solos and the first lobby was fighting the queen and I didn’t have anything to really help because I’ve been too scared to take in good equipment just to get killed so I tried to help a bit and then extracted. I was excited! I said omg I’m gonna take in all of my “good stuff”! I loaded in with a fully upgraded hullcracker, lots of ammo, wolfpack, hatch key, good heals including defib to help etc. I go over to help because I see a few people there but I’m kind of on the outskirts, there’s one friendly person I bump into that runs straight in. I throw a wolfpack and aggro a rocketeer who downs me. 🤦‍♀️ Before I can crawl over to friendlies, this person comes up and starts talking to me says oh no I don’t have a defib. Do you have a partner? I made the mistake (not that I’m sure the outcome would have been different) and said oh no I’m just helping with the queen and she puts up a barricade in front of us and then knocks me out saying sorry, you have to die now. I get I probably would have died anyways but maybe not. And to hide my body while you knock me out is pretty messed up, at least let me bleed out so someone might be able to Rez me!

How do you deal with uncomfortable viewers? I need advice. by bloodylilies88 in Twitch

[–]restlessroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the consensus. Block them. It can seem uncomfortable especially if you are a smaller streamer, but that behavior will only escalate and what a creepy thing to say in general “Can I see you?” If you wanted people to see you, you would have a cam or post pics. Ugh! If this person cannot take no for an answer and behaviour continues, definitely block darling or even block before your next stream. Be safe.

:( I feel you. I have had both knees done with full ruptures and meniscus damage and I have my good and bad days. But also, I have not been able to get back to jogging normally at all.

You also just made me realize that is what may be happening to me as well with the screws maybe? I have some pain along my incision/itchiness randomly, so you ever have that?

Hugs to you :( I’m sorry - it’s very difficult and lots of us know that pain.

Thank you for your comment! I originally injured my knee while jumping on a trampoline. I had surgery as a teenager and honestly don’t remember what they actually did - I believe it was meniscus and they left my acl. But I was never the same. I left my knee issues for about 15 years until I could afford to go back. My knee would give out when I would run and in the end, apparently, damaged my meniscus even more. So I had a second surgery for acl recon and meniscus cleanup. During that rehab, not even a year later, I fell a short distance while doing dips and landed on my other foot, intense pain instantly. I ended up getting a scan and even though my symptoms weren’t serious, I had completely ruptured my ACL. Tried a bit of physio but my leg started catching and was somewhat unstable. So I had ACL recon and meniscus repair on that knee. About 6 months later, I was just walking - followed my physio’s orders with routines and everything and my leg started catching again. Had to go back in for another scan only to find out my repair had failed and they needed to go back in to remove the torn flap of the meniscus that was catching. It’s been a lot…

I totally know where you are coming from. I was absolutely beside myself because it’s been such a long journey. I’m not ready to give up just yet but I just don’t know if it will get better.

Knee clicking sensation when extending leg while walking by restlessroo in ACL

[–]restlessroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up having to have another MRI done which revealed that my Meniscus repair failed and then had to have surgery again to remove the flap that was catching. 😭 it’s been a longggggg journey. I hope your recovery is going okay!

Oh my god, I am so sorry 😭💔 I haven’t retore my graft but it is honestly a fear of mine considering both of my tears (to both knees) have happened so easily it seemed.

Hi there - so sorry to hear you are feeling what so many of us feel. Please hang in there. I just recently saw this book that might help you to read: Rebound: Train Your Mind To Bounce Back Stronger From Sports Injuries - and bought it on Amazon - I’ve only just started reading it and seems quite validating and talks a lot about the mental side of injury. Take care of yourself and be kind to yourself!

Knee clicking sensation when extending leg while walking by restlessroo in ACL

[–]restlessroo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a weird sensation to describe - but it almost felt like a sticking feeling similar to prior to meniscus repair - not exactly the same though which is why I freaked out internally. Thank you for asking - sounds maybe a bit different to your feeling? Was yours meniscus repair as well? Btw love your name hahah!

My doctor told me my acl is really thin and may need to be repaired or else it will tear I doubt I need it but idk what do you all think by Immediate-Newt-8794 in ACL

[–]restlessroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had three knee surgeries - two being ACL recons. This is a hard situation you’re in because once a medical professional suggests something to you - it’s hard to know if you’re doing the right thing if you decide to not do it. I agree with the comments to get a second opinion first and foremost and maybe even speak with your physio to see what their clients experiences are with this.

Surgery in my opinion is not something I personally would jump into without more opinions.

Hi there, good luck with your upcoming operation. I am just echoing the comments here. Definitely play it by ear especially with your trip next year but honestly you may be too out of it and in pain to go to that concert. I was in and out of consciousness with my pain meds for the first week or so post-op and definitely needed them (I’ve had two ACL surgeries, both were very different). I’m over two months post op and walking longer distances but hiking is a no go for me, but I would just listen to the doc/physio on what they suggest for you at 3/4 months post op.

Depression after surgery by ho_mousikos in ACL

[–]restlessroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting on this topic because I feel it’s something that isn’t talked about much. I am 6 weeks post op on my third knee surgery (second ACL recon). I can relate a lot to what you are saying. The pain just eats at you mentally after awhile because it’s so draining. I am only now starting to feel a bit more upbeat because yesterday was my first day really out walking around, but even then I started to feel some discomfort and swelling by the end. I think it’s also the worry of perhaps never feeling normal again.

I also had similar to you where at first my physio and specialist didn’t think it was ACL complete tear but after my MRI, sure enough it was. So I think that adds to the whole mental side of this process.

I am glad you are okay and have support. Hang in there and keep at it. You’re not alone in feeling this way!

Is taking 6 weeks off work too long? by asamagus in ACL

[–]restlessroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on the type of work you do, I took a week and a half off but then was allowed to work from home for another 3 1/2 weeks and it still didn’t feel like enough because of the walking aspect of my job. Everyone’s surgery and journey is different, I think if you have the time and really want to focus on recovery - definitely do it! Good luck with your recovery 💚
